repair or restoration of antique weapons??

Personally, I won't own a firearm of any age if I can't shoot it. That goes for muzzle loader and breach loaders alike. My brother had an old 1800's contract musket that's touch hole was worn to the point that when you loaded it, the powder shot out into the pan. When it was fired, you had to...

    4f priming powder...

My understanding of the Revolutionary War, the soldier pulled out a pre-rolled paper cartridge, bit off the end, poured some in the pan and shoved the remainder down the barrel along with the ball. The powder they used then was equivalent to our FG.

    1F in a .44 Navy......

Back in the early 90's, I had a bunch of blasting powder that I used in my .45 CVA Kentucky. I figured with the long barrel, most of the powder would burn. It shot OK, but the fowling was thick. It wasn't graphite coated.

Expected accuracy with 62 caliber smoothbore?

I would think and any respectable smoothbore with the proper load would shoot minute of deer at 50-60 yards.

Expected accuracy with 62 caliber smoothbore?

I find that 98% of the time when I miss a target, it's an error between the ground and the gun!

Expected accuracy with 62 caliber smoothbore?

At 50 yards, I can keep all of my shots from a .69 Charlesville musket on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper provided I don't have a severe hang fire. I would think the .600 ball could do at least that good.

    20 Gauge Plastic Wads?

Smokeless powder burns fast, but Black powder explodes. That explosion part is was tends to "melt" the plastic wad. They work ok if you don't mind scrubbing the bore to clean out the melted plastic/powder residue which is a royal pain in the arse.

    Inflation jacking prices up

Right? I just hope and pray those that voted the current administration in learned that lesson, even though it was via the hard way.

    Inflation jacking prices up

With the economy in a downward spiral due to too many bad decisions and reckless government spending, I don't blame you one bit for staying out. I'd lay low myself. The last thing I always hated to hear growing up from my parents when I was bound and determined to do something I was advised...

    Traditions Trapper .50 cal

They were the .015 pillow ticking (dry non prelubed). Out shooting for fun, I usually spit patch, but I was pre rubbing bore butter on them that particular day. I have used the .010 patches with my Pedersoli LePage .44 caliber (.433 round ball) with pretty good success.

    Traditions Trapper .50 cal

I've also got a .50 Trapper. I haven't fired it since last fall, but it was dead on at about 30 yards with 25 grains GOEX FFFG and a .490 RB. I was going to try a bit hotter load, but decided why bother. I picked it up from a kid who got it from his grandpa, never fired still in the box. I never...
