Perhaps of interest, some matchlocks & period accessories

I wonder if the small tube sights on these also fell out of favor because of their somewhat delicate nature under military stresses. It's missing for a reason. Probably buried on some battlefield after it was knocked off.

    Pair of pistols identity request

It's not an Eliott which does not have an entry ramrod thimble but just one a couple inches out from the stock. This is the pattern 1811 Light Dragoon pistol. https://albanarms.com/an-1811-pattern-light-dragoon-pistol-with-flat-india-pattern-lock/

    This one's pretty but odd

I have that piece. It broke in shipping I just need to glue it

    This one's pretty but odd

The shape of the stock and the S shaped side plate looks French to me. Early British or Dutch barrel with tang screw from underneath. Lock is an original but might not be original to this musket. It is a fabulous fit if it isn't. Barrel is a reconversion. Large caliber so I'm thinking military...

    1784 odd looking Saint-Étienne

Just in case you are interested, there is a seller in France selling original pans for these 1777s. These are for the year 9 but the pan should be the same...

    1784 odd looking Saint-Étienne

The 1777 is the first lock in the world made with interchangeable parts. It should be pretty easy to reconvert if you desire. Finding original bands will be impossible. I've been looking for those two bands at least five years for one of mine. To do it right you would be better off getting the...

    1784 odd looking Saint-Étienne

Please don't add springs to the middle and front band, they aren't supposed to have them. Rear band has a spring, middle band is friction fit (screws down), front band should have a screw that screws directly to the barrel. A true 1777 not modified to AN IX is hard to find and well worth proper...

FOR SALE 18th Century brass gang mold for musket and pistol

Nice old gang mold ready for reenactment with turned walnut grips that I made using 200+ year old wood. The mold itself makes four bullets of different sizes. .67, .65, .54, and .50. I assume the two smaller are for a pistol or rifle and the two larger are for Bess or Charleville as needed...

    Ever see one of these?

I'm excited to be getting this one eventually. I bought it at an auction in Portugal and the shipper can't ship directly to the US (I don't know why, can't get them to ship directly from France either). So it's going to Brussels. Belgium doesn't mind shipping antiques to the US. It is expensive...

FOR SALE Early small pistol flintlock lock

Interesting early flintlock lock ca last half 17th century, probably 1670s to 90s. Hard to find these with the internal frizzen spring. This one is a project that will need a couple new screws and a **** to complete. It would also be much improved if you can cut off the old braised repair so...

FOR SALE Original 200 year old flintlock tinder lighter to restore

These originals are hard to find and usually cost over $900 when you can find one. This one needs the **** and trigger. I include a casting of a **** that should work for it. You'll have to fabricate a trigger for it. Also missing the sliding iron cover up front to hold the tinder to light the...
