    CABELAS HAWKEN CARBINE

I have one that I picked up at a bargain price from Craigslist. Nice little gun

Is there a list of Muzzleloader dealers?

I found a place and thought that I would share it. The shop is Deercreek Gun Shop in Marietta. Good people, lots of muzzleloading stuff.

How often do you run into other muzzle loader hunters?

There is a management area not too far from me that is muzzleloader only. I have only ever seen one other person there - he wasn't interested in talking, so I left it at hello and continued walking out. Nice little swamp, but I have never seen anything there bigger than a raccoon...

    Need Help Identifying Rifle/Maker

That is a beautiful rifle. Why can't I stumble into these deals?

Is there a list of Muzzleloader dealers?

My territory is southern South Carolina, all of Georgia and central and northern Florida and occasionally into eastern Alabama.

Is there a list of Muzzleloader dealers?

Thanks, I am aware of the Log Cabin Shop, I just like wandering around gun stores and want to find muzzleloader shops. A tough find.

Is there a list of Muzzleloader dealers?

I travel the southeast with business, and it occurred to me that I have not seen any list of muzzleloader retailers. Searching on the search engines gives all sorts of random results. Ideas?

Will a claw hammer work as a makeshift "wedge puller?"

I have used my GI issue lineman's knife as well. That is the single most useful pocket knife I have ever carried.

Much awaited Pietta Colt 1851 Navy Brass arrives!

Some dealers are being overly cautious to prevent issues for them.

I preparation for the day I dry ball one

When I have pulled a ball, I seat the ballpuller/ramrod, then use a double half hitch on the rod and tie it to a post or tree or something stationary. I pull the rifle - much safer to let the ramrod flop on the ground than drop the rifle.

How do I secure the ramrod in my T/C hawken?

I used to be relatively active in the forum, but life has pulled me away. I am popping in and lurking a bit now. Roundball used to be prolific in the forum. Where did he go?

    USPS Shipping.

If you look up the USPS regulations and have them with you when you go to ship, they tend to sing a different tune chuck-ia

    Finally got a flintlock

I rarely see flintlocks here and don't think that I have ever seen flints. Caplocks I see regularly. The nearest black powder source is a two plus hour drive away.

    Finally got a flintlock

Thanks guys. I will plan to take it to the range next weekend hopefully. Rainy crappy and cold now, so no chance of doing it today.

    Finally got a flintlock

I am well acquainted with muzzleloaders. I have a few percussion guns. Today I finally took the plunge and got a flintlock TC Hawken in 50 cal. The serial number indicates that it was a kit gun. The steel is beautiful, the brass has a nice patina. Unfortunately there is a ding in the stock...

Bought some guns, need some help......

Looks like amazing figure in the one on top. It would be a shame to scrap it to parts if it could be reworked.

    "Fixing" the TC Hawken

Absolutely beautiful! I'd love to have one worked over like that.

Traditions has a new model coming out

Lots of differences from the Mountain Rifle, but it is a nice looking gun.

    T/C Hawken sights

    Thanks!

    T/C Hawken sights

Thanks, but the local ACE has a box of gun screws. I'd rather buy local and not pay the shipping charge, so I need the dimensions.
