Since I am sort of impatient when I want something done, I said self, make some, so self did, going to fit the front base and then solder the blade on.
Front is steel base/brass blade, rear is spring steel. Going to try them out and then final finish once I know if they work.
My first attempt at sights so be gentle.

I just posted a modified Hawken flintlock in the flintlock section that I removed the sights, filled the holes and dovetailed a fixed buckhorn type into the barrel. I also made a front sight with brass base and blade made out of a silver nickel. That was dovetailed in also. Too bad I can't show a close up but the rifle is long gone.

It came out nice.

Just more time and energy then I want to put into this rifle.

I like the rifle, it shoots well and if I can just screw a fixed sight on and not have to modify it, life is good and it will serve it's purpose until I finish my flintlock.

TOTW sells a high blank sight that can be dovetailed in and made to work with the TC stock configuration. There's enough metal on this site to do some different profiles. I just left mine fairly square. I just wanted a nice fixed sight and wasn't going for a particular look.

Now that looks pretty sharp!

I have seen those sights before and always thought about replacing my sights on both of mine.

Did you have to do any fitting? Also, can the existing screws that come with the original sights work with these sights?

Thankyou, and appreciate the information and pics. Looks very nice!

Respectfully, Cowboy

Keep me posted, I'm interested in how this works out.

The sight screws will probably work, you might need to counter sink the holes a little.

Thanks, but the local ACE has a box of gun screws. I'd rather buy local and not pay the shipping charge, so I need the dimensions.

I believe the threads are 6x48 & the length about an 1/8th maybe 3/16ths

I here ya about the shipping charges for two screws. When I ordered the sight I also ordered a couple of extra sight screws thrown in with the shipment.

Respectfully, Cowboy :hatsoff:

Did you order a front sight also? If it works with the stock front sight that would be a bonus.
