    Guesstimate my muzzle velocity?

Vane, I’ll agree with you paper and can get very boring. Myself and a few others with enough properties have put up swinging steel targets at very challenging distances. To see and hear the clang is a hundred times better. Now I seldom go to paper, but do hit various rendezvous which have...

What would it take for the NMLRA to become a true "national" organization?

For a 501C to violate Robert Rules of Order which the BOD did. The State can apparently rescind they’re tax exempt status if they are notified and wish to do so. Doc

What would it take for the NMLRA to become a true "national" organization?

Captain Vane Those embezzling crooks gave a $5.000 grant for renew/rebuilt our berms someone else $3,000 for better entry site work. Also reduced insurance rates help many BP clubs. All of this including protecting my unmentionable rights. Doc,

What would it take for the NMLRA to become a true "national" organization?

Don’t know much about NMLRA, other than we tried to get a rep to come to a club meeting for a few years but finally gave up. He never came. Live up here in far Northern California-South Or. area, my wife and I have gone to 15 local rendezvous a year of 150+ shooters. I do know the NMLRA had a...

GregK, Perhaps $650 on gun broker, but would rather get $600 from a person I may converse with. Doc,

    WANTED TC Patriot .36 cal.

Have unfired 36 TC barrel only. I’m out west where we have swinging steel targets so a 36 doesn’t do much good Doc,

    Co2 unloaders

I’ve used CO2 cartridges for years. Walk the trails at various Rhondys and usually have to use it at leas once. One cartridge work for about three dry balls. Had one time it didn’t work. It was a complete double very tight load. It comes ready to use for a perc. but a flint adapter can be...

    Wad punch / drill

A very big problem with pillow ticking, it only comes in one size and the material has a loose weave. Bridgers Best has a tighter weave and multiple sizes at less than $4. a hundred. My Patriot likes .015, my wife’s Patriot wants.010. My .62 tradegun .020. And the TC .50 shoot’s with.015. So for...

What would it take for the NMLRA to become a true "national" organization?

My wife and I go to 10/15 rendezvous a year. We have an oscillating auto thrower so put on the shotgun events at a few of them. We live out west and the only time we see/hear anything about the NMLRA is on this forum. Perhaps this is only an eastern thing.

Loading with a Steel Range Rod

Have been playing this game since the 80s. Out west where we only have trail walks. Used to go to 15/20 rendezvous a year. Have seen one and absolutely know of two others who put a broken rod through their hand and wound up going to a hospital. A few out here still use wood but a very large...

    Storing Powder & Caps

The shelf life of BP is almost infinite, however Triple 7 and other subs are not. Especially once the container is opened to air. Doc,

Watched the 5 Round Speed Shooting Challenge today....

Out west we don’t have a Billy shoot, but most rendezvous have a Fort Shoot. With 3/4 man teams and 25/35 knock down steel targets From 45 to 150 yards away. This is also a timed event with the winners getting half the pot which has been running all Friday and Saturday.

Your suggestion on using roll pins is positively the way to go. Doc,

What on earth is happening with supply of primers?

When Biden took office my partners and I figured it would be another Obama 2.0 So naturally we stocked up on primers and powder. Democrat History always repeats itself. We had/have enough to help our friends. Doc,

    Carrying pre lubed patches

This is what I and others use on trail (wood) walks. Plastic chew cans are air and water tight. Soaked with water soluble oil and partially dried so they are good and damp. Will stay that way for a couple of months with zero mold. Put them in circular pattern making it easy to extract one at a...

    Real black powder

Don’t understand why some are using substitutes when it’s very easy to have the real thing. In my area out west many BP clubs order BP by the case and then sell to members as needed. Currently my club charges $27 per lb of BP which to me seems quite reasonable. My club purchases mixed case from...

    Ramrod stuck

I have a brass end on each end of my loading rod. Many of us do out west, it makes it easy to remove dry balls.. holes are drilled, tapped and counter sunk into the stainless steel rod. Doc,

    Ramrod stuck

An idea for a T handle. Both 8 and 10-32 installed

    That Second Shot

Out west many of the BP clubs have a shotgun event with singles and doubles so it’s just natural to have both of the hammers back on my Damascus double when approaching my dog on point. Doc,

    Percussion caps coming back?

When Biden got elected my partner and I figured it was a start of Obama 2.0 we immediately stocked up on caps and BP. History always repeats itself. We still have enough so we can share with close friends. One should always look at history. Doc,
