Wiping After Powder Charge and Wad Seated

I too own and shoot a Pedersoli Tryon. I use it in monthly matches. I’m a pretty consistent monthly winner with it. First place for the entire year out of our entire club. I load it as described above with spit patch, no wiping, 80 grains of 2F with a .020 patch. Never tried a conical in it...

Wiping After Powder Charge and Wad Seated

I never wipe between shots. Pour the powder and load the ball with a wet spit patch. Pushes the fouling on top of the new powder charge. Wad is not needed. I said damp not dripping wet. If you’re speaking of conicals I don’t swing that way.

Problem with Frizzen Gap Losing Powder

Whittle on your lock mortise, use 3F to prime, or put a shim in there like a cut up piece of soda can. When hunting I’d rather use 3f for prime. 3f is a bit more resilient to moisture and leaking out of the pan.

    Muzzleloading Propellents at Walmart

In a percussion pyrodex will work just fine. When finished shooting clean your gun and oil it. Tomorrow run another oily patch down the barrel to check for rust. On the third day do that again. By day four of doing this if you don’t have rust forming then you properly cleaned your gun the first...

Random thoughts on the Lyman/ Investarm patent breach

I’ve got numerous rifles with the patent breech. One of them I shoot at monthly match’s. This rifle sees at least 50 rounds a month. Been using them for 30+ years. I’ve never ran a brush or a special jag down into the breech. Never had had a single issue. Pump barrel and breach in a bucket or...

    Stock ID for Enfield P58

It’s quite possibly an Italian made Parker hale. Is there a made in Italy stamp on the gun anywhere? At some point once the Italians took over production the stocks were no longer marked with the Parker hale cartouche. There are many topics about this on the forum.

    On Line Scammer Warning

A lot of these scam sites have the pop up boxes that allow you to text chat with a customer rep. A year or so ago I was on one of the sites and started texting with a customer rep. I asked if they had any Russian Dragunov sniper rifles in stock. Immediately they responded that they had three in...

    On Line Scammer Warning

Venmo, Zelle, cash app and PayPal all have a “no firearms” policy. All four of them will suspend the accounts of the buyer and seller if they find out any transaction through their system was firearm related. The number one sign of a scammer is a firearms related website that only accepts one of...

    Pedersoli Availability?

Might wanna look at the twists in those Pedersoli jaeger barrels. If you’re wanting to shoot roundballs it might be a challenge. The twist is stated as 1/24.
