I've got a Birmingham-barrel Parker-Hale P58 from 1988. But I'm unclear about the stock as it lacks the P-H cartouche. It has the letters JS stamped inside the lock area as shown in the photo. Anyone know what kind of stock this is and what the JS means?

Thanks!

Tim

It’s quite possibly an Italian made Parker hale. Is there a made in Italy stamp on the gun anywhere? At some point once the Italians took over production the stocks were no longer marked with the Parker hale cartouche. There are many topics about this on the forum.

It's possible it's an Italian stock, but the barrel and lock are British. I've owned a few P-H and know the proof markings and dating.
