    .32 Caliber CVA Squirrel Rifle

Appreciate the info. Couldn't find any direct date info on the web. There were some references to the early 80's. Would you mind measuring yours? I want to pickup a case for it before it arrives and need the OAL.

    .32 Caliber CVA Squirrel Rifle

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with there history. Wanted to know when they were made. I just purchased a left hand version but did not receive it yet. From the detail pictures they look to be well made and what info I did find on the Internet they were well made, accurate and reliable...

Black Powder- should I be mad?

Your headed down a scary slope. Once gun owners start questioning the merits of a style of gun we are doomed. We as gun owners need to stick together and not question why one style of gun has a legitimate purpose and another does not. Anti's like nothing better than to see gun owners fighting...

    Failure and ouch!

Vt...If you shoot a flintlock and you have it with you, say on a woods walk, make sure it's not loaded, place the char-cloth in the pan and pull the trigger. Works like a charm and fast.

    Good squirrel load

I've had good results with both 6 and 5 shot on squirrels. 70 grains of FFg and 80 grains measured of shot. I like to keep things simple so I carry lubed Wonder Wads for 20 gauge when hunting. Two over the powder and another over the shot. Squirrels are tough little suckers. My favorite...

    Grinding Flints

Appreciate the replies but can someone possibly post with a link to a webpage as to exactly what I should order to fit a dremel?

    Grinding Flints

Have a bunch of flints that need the "humps' ground down and flat. Have a Dremel. What do you use for a stone and where did you get them.

    "Correct" sight for fowler

Yep NJ requires a rear sight and it must be at least 20 gauge for a single projectile if hunting deer.

    Muzzle coning

I have coned two of mine own using Joe Woods tool and the last .54 Roy built for me I asked the muzzle be coned. In the two I did I saw no loss in accuracy. Loading is easy. I will never own a rifle that does not have a coned muzzle. Once you go coned you'll never go back...

    dixon's gun maker fair

I was there on Friday and it seemed like it was a few vendors short from previous years. TVM was either not attending or was just really late, usually they are setup by the afternoon. Were they there today? Also there is usually a vendor from WV that sells defarbed C&B pistols didn't see them...

My .36 with 42" barrel likes 40 grains FFF .350 ball with wally-world ticking.

How does one Bark a squirrel?

I always aim to take the head out, so I never barked one. My understanding is the concussion (shock) created by the ball hitting the tree is what kills the squirrel, not so much slivers of the tree. I was always told to do it when a squirrel is flat against the trunk.

Oooops wrong sight on my flintlock.

100% HC/PC...Not to argue but they are not even close to a true Hawken. With regard to the sight make your own from brass or look at TOTW they have oversize "builders" sights that are oversize so they can be cut back and modified to shape.

    000 buckshot for .36 cal

I found my .36 likes 40 grains of either KIK or swiss FFFg, .350 ball and pillow ticking. I typically lube with spit, mink oil when hunting.
