    UK Game Season

It amazed me when I lived in Scotland that with the number of deer and a general anti-firearm attitude that bow hunting wasn't even looked at as a solution. I've heard rumors they are considering reintroducing wolves, which seems like a nuclear option. Granted, bow hunting may be a bit difficult...

    French caplock pistol...

Yeah, you're right it is shorter, I had only given it a quick glance. Think you might be onto something there with the mix and match of parts theory.

    French caplock pistol...

Looks like a French Model 1763/66 that has been converted to percussion, possibly with an English hammer judging by the engraving.

I'll have to keep that one in mind too! And yeah I am still at the "don't mind sleeping on the ground" age. It's more the heat for me that makes it not as enjoyable. I'd rather camp with snow on the ground than 90 degree heat, but I can deal with it, and it's still fun regardless!

Yeah I would love to camp, I think they only allow historical campsites in the area. Maybe by next year I'll have a tent and such.

I'm sure I'll get it all eventually. Thankfully I only live about 20 minutes drive from Galesburg so I can spend both days there without camping.

Thanks! I'm sure it will be fun. It's an event I've attended for years but am finally getting to participate!

Y Yeah most likely if I go it will just be for a day trip. I don't have any historical camping gear yet.

Just curious if anyone on here will be attending this event August 20-22. This will likely be my first event doing any sort of rendezvous/reenactment and it would be good to talk to some folks!

FOR SALE ($1000 Shipped) Original R. Johnson U.S. Contract Model 1836 Pistol Dated 1844

Looking to sell this Johnson Model 1836. The lock is dated 1844. I have not personally fired the pistol but it looks shootable to me and the lock sparks really well. I would like to get $1200 for it shipped or pickup in West-Central Illinois. I am also open to considering trades for non-mass...
