    Powder Coated R.E.A.L Bullets

I understand swabbing between shots for long range shooting but that's about it. I like to shoot more than swab.

    Powder Coated R.E.A.L Bullets

It takes a lot of grease to keep fouling soft in a rifle.

    TC Renegade **** Geometry Adjustment

Did it work a lot better? Mine works pretty well now. Besides using a little O2, acetylene, and some leather, it was free to doctor my lock up. I really just wanted to learn and test what geometry works well in a lock. Still the only way to really fix it is to move the **** pivot point...

    TC Renegade **** Geometry Adjustment

Yeah I think after reading on this forum and others that there must have been some wide variance in locks and breech plugs on these renegades. I am liking mine pretty well now. Still plan on putting a better lock on it and using the doctored up old lock for a pistol build.

    Powder Coated R.E.A.L Bullets

You might be on to something. Typical use of some kind of grease is to keep fouling soft, but it also gives it something to stick to. Starting with a clean barrel and loading a coated bullet will not have any kind of sticky residues for the fouling to stick to in theory. Should also only...

    Who rifles their bores?

I'm sure it is strong enough alone with at least a 1" wall thickness. I am wanting to replicate a rifled gun of some type. Undecided on which one. The brass I have is 485 brass (aka naval brass). I thought with a liner that it would be more durable than rifling the brass itself. Would also...

    TC Renegade **** Geometry Adjustment

It works better but the flint ends up towards the front of the pan. The only way to really fix these locks is to move the **** pivot point back. I am planning to put a different lock on it at some point but I do have this gun shooting reliably now. Getting about 4-5 shots before I have to...

Pietta or Uberti, which should I buy?

Better steel than maybe the mid 1800's. Better steel than modern Ruger, Colt, or S&W? Very doubtful. The cylinders on my Pietta revolvers are very soft. The 1858 frame is very soft as well. Mine are from the late '90s and early 2000's so I guess that is like the worst ones to have. I don't...

    Who rifles their bores?

Just seeing if there are any folks on here that rifle their bores or install rifled liners. Also if rifled liners are used, where can they be obtained? Thanks for any insight as I have the perfect piece of naval brass sitting here to make a scale replica in about 2" bore.

Pietta or Uberti, which should I buy?

They are both crap, but that is why they are $200-400 instead of $1500+! lol

Let's see some Leather Gear for those cap and ballers

Got the NMA in the traditional flap and the 1860 Army in the Bianchi "Dirty Harry" holster my dad had in his stash. Kind of weird but allows my to carry both my pistols and a rifle for when I really want to move some lead! Or if I want to conceal carry an 1860 Army. Just think if that mall...

    Steel for triggers?

It is hard to go wrong with 4140 alloy steel. For small parts like that the price difference isn't really a consideration. It machines nicer and can be treated a number of ways. For most apps it can be left annealed as it is pretty tough already. Otherwise low carbon steel that is case...

    1F in a .44 Navy......

Unless he ball milled it and corned it again. That "stunt" is how it's made in the first place! lol

    1F in a .44 Navy......

I will order some as soon as Powder Valley gets it! No shops will stock it around here. Local gun shop had caps here last week though so maybe things are looking up! Hoping they have something comparable to Swiss. Pretty stupid that something as simple as black powder should have to come...

    1F in a .44 Navy......

Or if you go by weight I would wager that it's all the same as long as you have the volumetric room.

    1F in a .44 Navy......

Graphite coating just helps seal up the porous powder granuals so they flow better through powder measurers and don't absorb moisture as fast. The size of grain really has less to do with anything than people think. Yes you can fit more 4f into a given space than 1f but burn rates are very...

Shooting Military rifles like they were designed to be used

Well it is more exciting to get up close and personal! Maybe grizz hunting I would rather do from a little bit of distance.
