    My First Ball Bag

Personally I think it is a great looking bag. Love the antler stopper! I must say it is probably bigger than it needs to be but so what-you don't have to fill it up every time you use it. I would be proud to say that I made it.

    Hunters Who Are NMLRA Members

I must disagree. No organization is perfect or even anywhere near perfect but a lot of these comments are, in my opinion, not accurate. The Friendhip facilities could be the result of the funds available. With (I think) about 11,000 paid members, how many funds are available to have first...

    Musket Cap on TC Hawken

I have converted a Investarms GPR to musket caps without any problem. However when I tried this with my TC Renegade I had almost constant misfires. The hammer struck the nipple properly, the cap detonated but the charge did not go off. After studying the issue, I came to the conclusion that...

Mountain Men movie Short muzzle loaders?

Great movie whether it was completely period correct or not. We have to appreciate all movies set in that era because we get so darn few of them. At least they didn't use any 1873 trapdoors made to look like flintlocks like so many earlier movies did.

    October 2022 Muzzleloading deer

Nice deer and nice recovery. You must not have as many coyotes in your area as we have in ours. I once shot a small buck just before dark and lost his trail in the dark. Came back the next morning and found what was left of him about 150 to 200 yards past the spot I had lost his trail. There...

    My first kit

Nothing to be ashamed of with that project. Surprised the LMF browing solution failed you, I have had extremely good luck with it on rifle barrels, however there are many variables to consider such as humidity, time between coats etc. Don't give up on it if you want to brown another barrel-it...

    The .62 rifle took a 2022 deer

Beatiful rifle and a good shot. Having shot my share of button bucks thinking they were does I know how easily it can happen.

    CCI #11magnum percussion caps

I love them. They are all I use. I have had problems with other brands of caps over the years but since switching to the CCI Magnum # 11 I have never had a misfire.

LYMAN GPR Users Unite and tell us your story

My son has a 50 caliber Investarms Lyman GPR with the fast twist barrel and he likes it. I currently have two Lyman GPRs-a Pedersoli 50 caliber flintlock and an Investarms 54 caliber percussion. Both started out as kits. I used the factory supplied parts for the 50 caliber flintlock and a...

    NMLRA members

I am a member. I am also a life member of the NRA. ALL organizations have some faults or some things that a member would like to see done differently. No one, and nothing, is perfect. We need to support our shooting sports or we will lose them. Withdrawing your support from an organization...

Purpose of finger rest on bottom of trigger guard ?

I personally dislike the "finger rest" and cannot see that it serves any useful purpose. I always remove it from any rifle I plan on using as shown in the enclosed photograph of a TC Renegade I remodeled. Each to his own.

    TG for GPR

Interesting how "different strokes for different folks" always comes into play. The OP wants to add the extra finger rest/loop to his trigger guard while I really dislike the appearance of that "finger hooky thing" on a trigger guard. I dislike it so much that when I remodeled my TC Renegade I...

    Sparrow Flintlock Pistol Done

Great looking pistol! Could you elaborate on how you applied the "varnish" after the oild finish? What did you use for varnish? Did you hand rub it on in thin coats? How many coats? The sheen is very nice but applying varnish over oil finish seems to me like a tricky proposition.
