What brand is this older powder??

I have shoot goex recently from the old cans pictured above. My best guess is that it is a bp made back from 1965 on. So brands were available back then ??

What brand is this older powder??

More info. Yes it's in the old goex cans pictured above. But the lids were not real tight and the powder was not chunky. The powder was filled all the way to the very top which manufacturers are about 1" from the top. The powder is 3f and very uniform, i.e, not a mix of different sizes.

What brand is this older powder??

Hello All, I bought some bp at an estate sale that was in the old mostly white type label metal goex cans but after shooting it comparing to goex 3f I found that it will not group the same. Hence, it is not goex. I'm thinking it is an older brand no longer sold. What brand would it be? It's 3f...

My Pedersoli Classic Side By Side Patterns

I like beer. But, anyway, the way I learned this is by listening to others who know what they're talking about. Other than that, I learn from my mistakes. The only problem with that is I make so many mistakes I can't remember some until I repeat them, I think it's called getting old. Good luck...

My Pedersoli Classic Side By Side Patterns

Use the flat outside surfaces of your calipers to measure. But the fastest way on 12 gauge is use a dime, if it will not go in the end of the barrel it's full choke. If it goes in with very little clearance it's modified. On the fiber wads: turn them sideways to push into the barrel and the...

    Warm water and dish soap?

don't light a match!! Yes it will work but I like to use windex and not get the bad smells but hey use what you want, you may like the smells you get! But for me, I want to keep cleaning my guns in the kitchen, if yall catch my drift.

    Warm water and dish soap?

Water to clean, ok sarcasm here but the truth too. Water and the fouling make a foul smell, like someone farted. My wife would come into the kitchen and say, "no more pinto beans for you, and don't "!!

    1F in Muskets?

Well, obviously there ain't no cigar smokers out there because you can shoot that 1f and then be able to light you cigar from that beautiful flame out the barrel !! I use to load it in my muzzleloading shotguns with short barrels at a SASS match and it was a real crowd pleaser and sounded like a...

Pyrodex “P” High Pressure Cylinder Over Rotation…..

Well I haven't read all of the posts on this but surely someone has made the point that the more you compress yuck o dex the higher the pressure will be. Decades ago when I used it I (very stupidly) compressed it with a hard wad in a 1860 steel frame 44 pistolle and boy I had power and it almost...

    carbon ring problems

Thanks yall, the felt wad is a good idea but I wonder if will decrease accuracy or have a problem causing this because it would be behind a hollow based bullet that needs to expand before it can get into the lands of the rifling??

    carbon ring problems

No rust and wiping the bore with loaded round does nothing. Wiping the whole bore may help though but I didn't have to wipe for 4 shots before. I put 80g Goex 2f followed by hollow base 400g bullet full of crisco in the hollow.

    carbon ring problems

Hello all, I've had a problem develop that I didn't have before. A carbon ring will buildup in my 45 percussion rifles shooting heavy bullets and heavy loads. I didn't have this problem until recently and am using the same load, lube, and bullet. The carbon ring or area is from the top of the...
