    Patch fabric

Acorn - I had the same experience. Even called them about it. They seem kinda flaky on things and could not give a reasonable answer to the shipping question. Since they will ship other things, why not fabric ? But do be aware of trying to return a fabric item. Likely won't take it...

I do love your work. Being shorter than a Ponderosa Pine I can't match up to a 12 inch blade. For me, something around 7 in. would be fine.

    Tannic Acid

Would you get the same results or similar by not alternating coats of nitrate and tannic ? Are the results similar if just coating twice with nitrate - then blush - then tannic ? I'm trying to understand the process. And I wonder .. can a stock done with iron nitrate and 2 coats of tried & true...

    Load Workup Order

Well, first -- sage advice -- take your time , use the search function to see what others did for the caliber they use. What cal DO you use ? Mostly I shoot for fun, but still want a good group. And I don't think using a mallet to pound that ball into the barrel is much fun. So I shoot .490...

    What is drill cloth?

It is generally placed in the utility cloth section. Earlier in the year, I finally found it in the 5th Joann's I went to ; and that was quite a distance away in the next county over. Do call first if three store-site says they have it - just so you don't waste your time driving all over...

Looking for a long range rod.

Now this is getting interesting .... IF you are a bit ambitious and imaginative you could ... get a Mil Surp .50 M2 4 piece rod with the T-handle on the base end ... get the thing plastic coated ... and can always add a piece or two ... and they cost like less than 25.00. just sayin.

Looking for a long range rod.

I've been using a 44" from Bore-Tech for years. Coated rod with bearings in the handle. Reasonably priced too. Have shorter ones from my center-fire days.

    The Return of Thompson-Center

One thing they must do is - have very good quality barrels. No cute stuff - just make a quality rifle that shoots well. I have two T/C Pa. Hunters - flinty and perc. Had the flintlock re-worked by Cabin Creek. $$$. Both are going to be sold. Both near new condition.

Does this look right to you ?

Gum, I'm gonna just let her be. Looks weird but shoots great. Trigger is free and smooth. Front fixed. Replaced rear sight with a taller one.

Does this look right to you ?

Dixie, it was a gift. Yes, it does group well even with my old eyes. I had to pull the trigger and do some minor re-work as it binds, now it seems ok and moves freely. The trigger guard will be replaced with a new one from Kibler as this one looks like it was finished smooth. Thank you...

    Removing Jax Black

Need some input from members who know ... what is the best way to remove Jax Black from Brass ?

    Removing Jax Black from brass

I picked up a Woodsrunner that has Jax Black all over it. Looks like whoever did it just slopped it on. Heavy here, light there, streaks everywhere. I want to remove it from the side plate and trigger guard. What's the best way to do this. Also, there is some glue like substance you may be...
