    Kiblers Woodsrunner

Mine is still new. I've only fired near 40 shots with the supplied flint. Looks like a French Amber. Also looks like it has more shots left in it.

Does this look right to you ?

I'm leaving it as it is. The rifle shoots just fine. I did put on the taller rear sight and that really worked out well. 'Course, I could say I won a knife fight. That patching should have said - Drill Cloth - fr Joann's.

    Cleaning patch question

Agree with Broomstick - I use 2 in or 2.5 in pre-cut cleaning patches and a tapered jag. I find that the short button jags can cause the issue you explained. You can get a tapered jag from Track - Wolf...and other places ... I have several and sometimes use a .45 jag on my 50's.

    Atglen , PA

This is a search ... for the fellow shooter who responded to my question last fall - "can you build one for me.." I received a lot of support and help from the forum, and my rifle was built. The one response received from a member offered to have me come out to his range and shoot. His...

OK Smooooothieee, and just what caliber wazzz you shootin. ?

Leaving the range even more confused (Load development)

What do you really want out of your rifle , and yourself ? For many a consistent load is ideal. Time after time. There are exceptions but that grail people search for is quite elusive... I'll take consistency.

    inexpensive spotting scope recommedations

I'm with French on this. I've used Kowa 27x LER since the 90's. Still going strong.

    inexpensive spotting scope recommedations

I have used spotting scopes of various brands for a great many years. Bench shooting and when shooting long distances from 200 to 600 yards. Spotting scopes are for great if you are shooting from a bench. OR, for others to observe while standing away from the shooting area. Binos are iffy...

I FINALLY shot my Woodsrunner for the first time!

It's like TDM said -- I had the same issue with the sights.. Put on the taller rear and it solves the issue. A 530 ball and thicker patching - like 018 should work fine. And you have the right idea -- takes time to load a flintlock so it should take time to file that front sight. Little...

    Homespun riflemen’s knife

I need one like that .

In this case - - - less is more - - - would be an understatement. That is beautiful !

I ordered my Kibler Woodsrunner today!

I totally agree ! That is the first thing I noticed about mine. Nothing better than a rifle that mounts easily and your eye is right on the sights.
  18. GriscomRun

Does this look right to you ?

The front sight is fixed - filed off the grooves. Does look much better. Muzzle notches will have to wait.

Does this look right to you ?

Bob45, I like that idea. I've never used JB Weld so I'll have to look into that. And I just put on Kibler's tall rear sight. Might as well take care of the front sight then take it out and shoot for alignment. Thanks for that.

WOW, that is the nicest walnut stock I've seen in a while. Love the way the grain lays. Lucky you !
