They put in Brake Dancing, go figure
  2. Packrat

Would somebody be so kind as to help me identify this Flintlock?

IMO, a Boarding gun would be a very basic, short, Easly used musket or blunderbuss. All of the engraving on the barbell says to me this was a wealthy person, anti-boarding gun, just my opinion

    Traditions Blunderbuss kit

I have the same kit, but I turned it into a Flintlock. Queen Anne Lock was almost a perfect fit

    Colorado Forts- Fetterman

It might be a barn house story, but I think the US did not appreciate what the Indians were capable of, on rare occasion, I admit. Kind of like the war in Vietnam, we underestimated what Charlie was capable of, TET springs to mind, and I was there

    .54 for Target?

For the longest time my shooting match rifle was the 1802 Harpers Ferry in 54 cal. About a half dozen years ago I had a Jaeger Rifle built in 62 cal. That has been my match gun. both use more powder than a 45 0r 50 but ita what I enjoyed before my eyes went

How far does spent patches go ?

When the rifle is new, I always look for the patches to see if they are torn, burnt, whatever, it had become just a habit to look for them, so I would say on average 10-15'. I guess it could depend on your lube, some may be sticker than others

New to me: Le Page Reproduction

Years ago I had a Pederso;i Le Page. it was a very accurate pistol;. It was a bit to much Dueling pistol; for me, I traded it for a Charles Moore. Probably the same barrel. I have both in Flint and Percussion and both, if I do my part, are tack drivers

69 Caliber Buck 'n Ball Ammo?

Just for an additional comment, I have a 54 Caliber smoothbore Blunderbuss, I don't remember the ball size, I used my .53 round ball and maybe # 4 shot and at 25 yards all four were scattered on target.

69 Caliber Buck 'n Ball Ammo?

I have shot my 1816 Harpers Ferry many times with Buck & Ball I used to take 12 ga Buck apart and put three of them on top pf my .680 ball. I really liked that combination
