Hawk, what type of vinegar is recommended? I know there are different types.

I have to admit the effect of the vinegar on the brass looks great! Thanks for the explanation :thumb:

Ceannt, I Hope you get it all straightened out to your liking. By the way, is the gun a Pietta brand? Thanks, Z

Stantheman86, those are nice lookin' :thumb: Do you prefer the brass frames over the steel? Just curious. I do not have a brass framed revolver. Thanks for the photos. I especially like the look of the .44 on top. Vinegar ya say? Thanks, Z

    3rd Model Dragoon

I have two ASM Dragoons via Replica Arms, Model 2 and CVA, Model 3. Need to do a little work on the model 2. I bought both on GB. As far as functionality I've experienced no difference. Aesthetically speaking, they are both beautiful guns.

My experience with Walker cylinder gap and some other notes.

Ed C. Hi. Thank you for the reply. I am no gunsmith either. Just making conversation. It's all very interesting to me. Glad you shared your method. Thanks. Z:thumb:

My experience with Walker cylinder gap and some other notes.

Ed C, Hi. Interesting. I am trying to follow and understand the conversation. So, correct me if I am wrong. Why wouldn't you have just added the appropriate shim measurement in the arbor hole so that you would not have had to place another shim at the lug? Am I misunderstanding you? It sounds...

My experience with Walker cylinder gap and some other notes.

Ed C. I too have a couple of Uberti Walkers. Beautiful replicas. One was manufactured in 2021 and the other in 2012. By the way, are you measuring the cylinder gap with the hammer down or in half cocked position? I've been told that it should be in half cocked position with the barrel pointing...

Why is everything out of stock??

“What we have here is A failure to communicate” if I’m not mistaken was a line delivered to Paul Newman by Strother Martin in the movie Cool Hand Luke. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

    Pair of Belgian 1860 Army’s

Robby, I couldn't agree more. Here you have a person who is a professional gunsmith sharing his experience and processes of repair in detail on this forum, so well, that a person with some good mechanical skills could possibly even make their good revolver even better. Win win situation...

    Uberti Walker nipple wrench

Interesting. I have a wrench like that. Wonder if I could just buy the sockets?

    Uberti Walker nipple wrench

CyrusP Glad you found one you are happy with. I too bought a Made by Cash Manufacturing Company/USA. Nipple wrench but it is not the ratchet type. I guess Cash makes a great product. ;-) NW0504 WALKER NIPPLE WRENCH

Why is everything out of stock??

No stainless here but check these out if you are open to the idea of a non stainless Sheriff . I've used these guys before with no problems. If interested I would call them to confirm availability. They are available according to their website. Just a thought. Thanks, Z 1858 Remmington New Army...

    Open tops are just sexy

Yours must be a newer revolver than 2015 then. I don’t have the latest dating chart. Thank you for the info on Buffalo Arms👍👍 I will check it out.

Great!! Mystery solved. Thanks for posting that DarkAngel. I would really love to see that one. The fluted cylinder version of that 1860 must be nice. I've only seen old original Colt 1860 pictures. If you will, when you have time, would you look for a date stamp on your revolver? I've attached...

Dark Angel. Appreciate the reply. No worries about the photo. I totally understand😂 that’s great about loading paper cartridges. That’s Something that I need to learn how to do. 👍 I was just curious if maybe your revolver might be a Pietta Outlaw? I looked up New Frontier but it has a top strap...
