Set trigger stopping at half ****

That is the roughest looking fly and tumbler I've ever seen. It doesn't look properly fitted. Your fly might be backwards, Its hard to say without it in hand and test for function. It could be binding on wood when released.

    USPS

I sent a package to TOW on 21 December, arrived January 6. And that was thru priority mail 2-3 days. The same people who handled mail in voting........

    Radioactive frizzen?

You could put a piece of dull river gravel in the flint jaws and it would spark...... You mainly saw them on t/c guns, as the early frizzens weren't to good. My old man probably still has three of them on guns somewhere

    Comments on TVM Fowler?

Do some research. Historical accuracy, value, quality. I wouldn't use them all in the same sentence to describe them. Save a little more money, buy better, and you won't be disappointed

    Rod tip size question

3/8 would be the outside diameter of the fitting. Wood would have to be removed to insert it into the fitting.

    loosing weight

Since you asked. Buy a new bun with a properly made and contoured barrel, appropriate to its caliber. A proper 20 gauge barrel, 44 inches long, should yield around a 7 pound gun. My French fusil with a 57.5 barrel is less than 8.5 pounds. As long as it is,it is not unwieldy or unbalanced...

    soldering a breech plug question

I think the OP is going to do what he wants despite conventional and sound practices. We're arguing with a possum at this point.

    soldering a breech plug question

The words,(brazing, soldering, welding) should not be used in conjunction with the word breechplug. As previously stated ,your barrel material is a recipe for disaster. It's nice to want to try to do things yourself . But use proper materials and methods,or research how to. Building a safe...

    Barrel length

48 inches isn't too bad. I have one with a 57.5" barrel and another with a 56 ". They hold a decent pattern out to 35 yards wadded with just paper or an over shot card. I've knocked pheasant down at 50. Have witnesses and dog to prove it. There's a reason those gune were around
