    Im sorry to hear of this poor experience. And what is his response to these items? I'd at least ask for your money back. At most ,I'd cut it up into pieces that fit in a shoebox, and send it to him,that way no one can't inherit that mess.

    I'll be nice and say this. If historical accuracy is your desire. Keep looking. If you want something "French styled " at a modest cost then buy one.

    You need a very fine edge to cut the corners of the dovetail. Otherwise the end results will look like hell.

    Belt sander ,disc sander,. You need to keep your dead side relatively straight and true.
