    Best oil for rust prevention

I did a little test of my own with the oil I had on hand. I used the Barricade, CLP, Amsoil, 3-1 and Hoppes Elite. I have sprayed the test areas with salt water mist a couple times a day for 3 days. Barricade so far is the best followed closely by CLP. Next would be Amsoil and 3-1 tied. Hoppes...

    Best oil for rust prevention

Not sure this is in the correct area. If not please let me know. Anyway, what oil do you trust on your muzzleloader? I have Hoppe Elite, CLP, Amsoil, Barricade and 3-1.

    Swiss powder.

It looks like to me the Swiss Caviar would be what a person would use for cartridges since it a ball type for better flow when metering.

    Swiss powder.

I just placed an order from Graf and Sons. I'm looking forward to trying out the real black powder. Last time I had part of a jug that was given to me by a friend to try out was 20 plus years ago. I liked it but was very difficult to find so I just stayed with pyrodex.

    Renegade replacement barrel

I have glass bedded several rifles before that turned out really well. Just didn't know if I'm missing something

    Renegade replacement barrel

I contacted TOTW and the are not going to do any of the 1" across the flats for the Thompson Center only the 15/16" for now. They are on backorder as you stated. So that is why I was wondering if putting the 15/16" in the Renegade that was set up for 1" would work? I'm just not having much luck...

    Renegade replacement barrel

Might be a silly question but has anyone ever tried putting a 15/16" across the flats barrel into a Renegade stock. I'm thinking with maybe a Hawken tang and glass bed the stock might work?

    Swiss powder.

I was looking up places to purchase swiss powder and the 1lb jugs looked different between the two places I found. One had what looked like a mountain on it and the other had some kind of 3d looking block like thing. Other than the F, FF or FFF and so on are there different kinds of swiss?

    WANTED T/C Renegade barrel

Looking for a barrel for my T/C Renegade. Prefer a twist faster than the 1:48 factory rate and in .50 caliber.

    Renegade replacement barrel

Just purchased a really nice T/C Renegade stock on another forum and now searching for a barrel for it. Thinking a Green Mountain with a faster twist than the 1:48 . Anyone know of a good source?

    Which Powder to use?

I have been reading the post on this subject of what powder to use. I have a T/C Hawken in 50 and for the 25 plus years have used pyrodex rs and tried one jug of real black powder when I could get it. Never had too much trouble with the pyrodex and cleaning it up. Always wanted to try the 777...

    50 and 54 caliber ballistics

Sounds like I have a fun project for this spring. I will set up the chrono and shoot the Hawken with prb and maxi. I will also use fog and fffg to see what happens. Of course I will record group size with each load. When I get it all put together I will post my findings
