I was looking up places to purchase swiss powder and the 1lb jugs looked different between the two places I found. One had what looked like a mountain on it and the other had some kind of 3d looking block like thing. Other than the F, FF or FFF and so on are there different kinds of swiss?

I haven't bought Swiss in awhile maybe they are changing the label?
The one with the crossed rifles is meant for black powder cartridges , the one with the mountain is for muzzleloaders.
I've only seen Swiss powder labeled with 3 crosses.
Old Ensyford has a Crest with a lion on its label.
I think your best deal would be to order from Graf and sons.
It's a 4 pound minimum but I think that dollar for dollar it's more economical.

This is the current label on Swiss muzzle loading powder.

Check around...I just did delivered pricing before ordering 25#...at the time, Powder Inc was the lowest at that qty. Can't say at lower volume, but it just takes a minute to check.
I shoot 2 different BP cartridge calibers. After Goex discontinued their cartridge grade I struggled for a year trying different powders in an effort to duplicate the accuracy I was accustomed to. I finally settled on Swiss 1 1/2 F for my cartridge guns.
I just placed an order from Graf and Sons. I'm looking forward to trying out the real black powder. Last time I had part of a jug that was given to me by a friend to try out was 20 plus years ago. I liked it but was very difficult to find so I just stayed with pyrodex.
My reply to the OP is based on Swisses description of their powders not the labels. I'm don't know for certain about the label changes but they describe the the crossed rifle as cartridge powder and the mountain label as muzzleloader.
Can you please post a link to these statements? Just curious where you saw it.

I am not seeing anything about the crossed rifle label being for cartridge use, however Caviar Ball is a different grade from the 2F and 3F grades we use in muzzle loading. Buy Swiss with confidence. Its all I use now. Velocities are higher and trajectories are lower.
You have to click on black powder and look at all the different types.

be careful sending empty BP, cans through the USPS / POSTAL SERVICE, they have SNIFFERS that detect the smell of explosives, and you are IN DEEP DO DO! pay attention when sending these types of items through the mail.

It looks like to me the Swiss Caviar would be what a person would use for cartridges since it a ball type for better flow when metering.
