    Different powders?

I received O.E. 2F and 3F from Grafs and will be shooting this in my Hawken for the first time when I get to the range. Have only shot Goex 2f up to now.

    best group at 100 yards

The best group I have had is 6 inches at 50 yds. But I have only shot my Hawken 3 times and I need a lot more practice.

    Investarms Hawken .50

I bought the rifle used and the #11 nipple was slightly deformed. I wanted to try a Musket Nipple after reading about that online. I use GOEX FFg. Cabelas has 2 nipples for under $9.

    Investarms Hawken .50

Replaced the nipple with a musket nipple and used RWS musket caps. Fired all rounds with no problems. Trigger is not as smooth as I would like. Might replace it next year.

    Another Hawken

Just bought an Investarms Hawken .50 cal. Have not shot it yet. I emailed Investarms with the serial number and they said it is about 20 years old. Shown next to my T/C .45 cal. (bottom)

    T/C Hawken accuracy

Shot my Hawken again today in near perfect weather. I got 5-shot 2.5" groups at just under 50 yards. I want to try 3F powder fairly soon.

    T/C Hawken accuracy

I shot 60 grs. of Goex 2F. I am not particularly good with iron or buckhorn sights due to having 'older eyes'. I shot off a Caldwell front rest and bag supporting the buttstock. I probably need 2 or 3 more range sessions to really get used to shooting for accuracy. I want to try 3F also. Thanks...

    T/C Hawken accuracy

I have shot my recently purchased Hawken only once for accuracy at 50 yards. What size of groups should I expect? I am shooting .440 Hornady balls with .015 Ox-Yoke patches (.45 cal.). So far I can barely get a 6" group.

    New member from Ohio

I bought a Thompson Center Hawken .45 last year along with all the items needed to load and clean the rifle. I will be shooting it this spring. I have not shot any BP rifle since I was a teenager. This website has a lot of valuable information. I did visit the Log Cabin Shop in Lodi last year to...
