    Two feathers health issues

Dave Young athlete people often push themselves beyond what they thought possible and become stronger as a result. Us older folks that try to push like that end up broken and we are slow to recover if we ever do. Please my friend, listen to your body it is telling you to back off and heal.

Where to zero for 25, 50, 75, and 100 yard matches?

I sight in for 50 yards since 1\2_the targets in our matches are at that distance. 25 yard targets don't require much Kentucky windage. 100 yards require a powder increase, and with some guns a sight adjustment. At 100 yards my eyes are more of a problem than issues with how the gun is setup...

    SOLD T/C New Englander 12ga

I recently bought a New Englander with fixed choke, it is quickly becoming my favorite ML. The gun is easy to clean and playing with different loads on the patterning board is great fun!

    Aim small, miss small

When I sight in a gun I take a 3 inch stick on target and mount it on blank art paper. Before sticking the target on paper I cut the bottom of the target into a point. I aim at the point. I find I group much better than when I leave the target round and aim for the center.

    Crockett cleaning question

The screw goes into the trigger assembly it shouldn't damage any wood in the process. I replaced the factory screw with a brass one from the hardware store. I replaced the screw so that the factory screw wouldn't get damaged with my screw driver after frequent cleanings. The factory screw can be...

    Hobby Lobby Leather Quality?

I've been using Hobby Lobby leather to make shooting bags and various ML accessories. The leather is mostly suede and probably not the best choice for what I am doing. I haven't been able to find heavier leather there that come in pieces big enough for most projects. Hobby Lobby has sale on...

    Triple 7

Some guns may be more able to direct spark from the cap to the powder Better than others. This could be from a slightly different design or that fouling has built up in the path of the spark between cap and Powder. I have used 777 quite a bit with success in most guns but some guns that just...

    Williams fp sight help

I had Williams gun Smith's put a new front sight and FP peep sight on my TC Hawken. The front sight was too low and had to be exchanged for the .500 front sight. The marks on the peep are for reference only and don't relate to given distances.

WITHDRAWN MINT Lyman Great Plains Hunter .50 Flintlock

Once again you have come up with another great gun! From the experience I've had getting two guns from you, the guns turn out better than the pictures you show. In this case, I don't know how the gun could be better than the photos.

    Maximum twist on muzzleloaders

I just purchased a TC Scout pistol that has a 1-20 twist rate. TC used to also make a Scout rifle with the same twist. I haven't shot my gun yet but I assume it will be more accurate with bullets than round ball. My gun is 54 caliber but they were made in 45-50 and 54 caliber.
