    Building 4 Bore Rifle #2

I got my 8 bore barrel last week. now I need to get some other projects out of the way so I can build it. With the breech plug of a 4 bore I am wondering how one might set it up to be a percussion rifle. would a nipple and drum arrangement be strong enough? I think a back action lock could be...

CHARLES BURTON 250 S. LIDDIE WAY MOREHEAD, KY 40351 (606)780-7709 [email protected]

I put in an order for two barrels 18 months ago. But from everything I have heard he makes a good barrel. I like that he will make non standard calibers like 29, 47, and 52.

    Kibler kit

I would not leave the kit untouched. I would get the barrel inlet into the stock. there was another member here a while back that left the kit untouched for a few months and the forearm warped due to changes in humidity. once the barrel is in it can sit.

    Are muzzleloading still antiques?

so this is a bit of law that is very open to interpretation. no way to know where the line really is till someone is charged for breaking it. having the cylinder installed defiantly makes it a firearm. having it modified also might. but just having a cylinder or having a conversion commercially...

"How to Build a Percussion Lock" by Glen Davis

It is an interesting read. I have not made my own lock. the information is generally geared for making one in a modern shop with machines and not castings or made by a blacksmith.
