Interesting rifle Muley. From a distance it looks like a half stock, but I see wood running up the barrel when I zoom in. Would love to see more pictures of it and tell us what it is please.

    First traditional muzzleloader deer

I did a build along in the builders bench this earlier this year (new hobby/Hawken build), which I now know it is not a hawken. It is a half stock built from a walnut blank using a CVA Hawken barrel, lock and hardware is basically CVA mountain rifle and a self made ram rod. Total cost to me was...

    Patch box instructions needed

Well, I just went forward with what came with the kit and figured it out. I inlet the spring too deep so I shimmed it up with a cut off from the side plate. Turned out well for my first shot at it.

    TVM Natchez poor boy ?

I sent in the order! Natchez Poor Boy 42” 13/16 in 45 cal Straight octagon. Upgraded to premium maple, late Ketland lock and I’m thinking of adding an oval patch box instead of the grease hole. All furniture in aged steel with dark brown stain on the stock. I thought upgrading to a swamped...

Thanks, Pooch156! Just don’t look too closely at it 🤓. The top and bottom panels are not exactly alike but that was on purpose. Since it is just my second build, I wanted it looking a little crude. (Makes it easier to improve on😅)

That‘s gorgeous Zonie! Y’all are challenging me here. I am just trying to get through my first full patch box🤪. I guess I can start researching threads on different latch and release methods.

Now your spring location makes sense to me. I like the latch on that one. My kit has a different set up. It doesn’t have a latch, just the spring that holds the door closed.

    Patch box instructions needed

I seemed to have lost my instructions on the hinged patch box kit. This is my first attempt on this. I can’t find it anywhere online. I need the picture showing how the spring is inlet for the lid. Could someone please post a picture of these instructions?
