    Savage Civil War musket.

Wondered about the bore. Don’t know what happened to the other two bands. This gun belongs to my brother-in-law. It was his great-great grandfathers. Found a place to get the bands but he don’t think he wants to spend the money for them.

    Hummingbird

Feeding this one sugar water from my finger tip after I found it in the garage on the floor. Had it in the house doing this. Do you have any idea how fast they recoup and take flight. Lot of fun to try to catch and take outside.

    Savage Civil War musket.

Sorry it took so long to get back. Life gets in the way sometimes. The lock is marked 1863and the bore measures .605. Figure it’s a .62 cal. It’s been in the same family since the civil war. The bore is clean and awful tempted to load a small blank load and make some smoke.

    Savage Civil War musket.

I have in my possession a Savage musket that was used during the Civil War. It is missing the second and third barrel bands. Are all the bands on these muskets the same size or are they specific to the brand of musket? Wanting to replace these bands but cannot find any listing for the Savage...

    Cannon parts

Have a chance to purchase what I believe to be a Traditions Napoleon signal cannon. It has a wheel missing. Wheel is a dished wood spoke at approximately 12” dia. Traditions Firearms doesn’t have this wheel in stock and said it would be about 180 days to get one. Does anybody here have any...

    Fort De Chartres Rendezvous.

Went to the rendezvous last year and there was a guy there who made bag molds. Had his information and lost it. Need to get in touch with him about making me a mold for my .30 cal rifle. If anybody here has his contact information I would appreciate knowin it. Thanks in advance.

SOLD Pre-Dixie Gunworks - Turner Kirkland flintlock 45 cal $500 Shipped price

I have a .45 cal rifle marked Dixie Gun Works Union City Tennessee on the barrel. Made in Italy. Was given to me by the son of a high school classmate that is no longer with us. Son said his dad built the rifle from a kit in 1975. He had inlaid an eagle in the left side of the buttstock along...

Looking for information on this firearm

Plans at this time are only identification. Rest will be up to owner. If it were mine I would bring it back to shooting condition without destroying the authenticity of the firearm. Would need to solve the problem of the missing plug in the clean out hole and repair the damage to hammer from...

Looking for information on this firearm

I have come into possession of what I believe to be a .62 cal musket. Pictures will follow. The lock is marked “Savage RFA Co” with “Middletown CT” under that. Behind the hammer is the year “1868”. In front of the hammer it has the letters “US” under an Eagle. Butt plate has “US” on the top...

    Question on value.

And that means?? Just a question guys. Never said I was going to do it. Was just wondering if it would hurt the value if it needed to be rebored to a caliber that was original to the maker.

    Question on value.

It’s a .30 cal J. Henry & Son. Doesn’t really need rebored but was just wondering if it would hurt value if I had it done.

    Question on value.

Would it hurt the value of an original rifle if I had Hoyt rebore and rifle the barrel to a caliber that was original to the makers calibers. Just wondering. We discussed this this morning at the coffee shop and had 2 different opinions.

    Bag mold caliber

No markings on the mold. Just bought it to have. Told the wife it is an excuse to buy another gun to fit the mold. She doesn’t seem to agree with my reasoning. Go figure.

    Bag mold caliber

I bought a box of stuff at a real estate auction to get a bag mold that was in the box. I couldn’t get my hands on the mold to see what caliber it was. After I got it I cleaned it up and poured lead in it I measured the ball and found it to be .405. Too big for a .40 and too small for a 41...
