Have a chance to purchase what I believe to be a Traditions Napoleon signal cannon. It has a wheel missing. Wheel is a dished wood spoke at approximately 12” dia. Traditions Firearms doesn’t have this wheel in stock and said it would be about 180 days to get one. Does anybody here have any information about where a guy might find one of these wheels?

Maybe one of these will match up?

Those Traditions cannons are made in Spain. Years ago (1970s) they were imported as kits by CVA. Back then one could order a pair of the wheels for about $50. Eventually, CVA discontinued the kits and at some point factory assembled versions started showing up from several other importers---finally from Traditions.

Dixie Gunworks also carries them listed as from Traditions. Anyway, you might call Dixie on the off chance they have an extra wheel. They've been carrying that cannon in one form or another for over 50 years. Bear in mind the ones that were made from kits and the ones that came finished have slightly different wheel dish. They are the same diameter but the dish of the wheel is more pronounced on the factory-finished models than they were on the kit model. I built one from a CVA kit and then acquired one of the prebuilt ones about 25 years later off of eBay. That's how I know about the difference in the depth of the dish

Cheers
