Err, I think your chambers are a little large if a .475 ball fits.

My experience with cylinders on later model guns is they don't need fitting. The conversion cylinders I have also drop in with no fitting.

    Ballistol is top notch... not!

8 to 1 Ballistol and Water gives me the best patch lube I have seen. It also cleans up BP residue well. I use my own olive oil, tallow, bees wax forumula for rust protection.

    Ball sucking

Send it back. If it won't hold a .375 ball, it is out of spec.

    Bore light

These are some of the best lights I have found for muzzleloaders. https://www.amazon.com/6PCS-LED-Replacement-Battery-Fishing-Flashers/dp/B08DFG4R98/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2LEVV1Q1O6YWR&keywords=led+battery+lure+light&qid=1647520598&sprefix=led+battery+lure+light%2Caps%2C73&sr=8-7

    Cylinder loading stand

For competition shooters, there were some expensive presses made back in my younger days. I can't imagine how much they would cost today.

    T/C Hawken rear sight ?

Thompson Center used to sell them as a hunting sight that matched up with the Patridge front sight the sold. I would say your only recourse for those today is to put a search in Ebay and wail. Does your rear sight have the flared out back piece or the square one ? The flared model was really...

Need advice on difficult loading PRB

I agree with this. Wonderlube is not your friend.

Can someone tell me what I am looking at when I video'd my GPR bore? from bottom to top.

What you are seeing are mostly machine marks in the bore. Unless the barrel is hand lapped, it will take many shots to smooth them out. That said, it is not an issue as long as you aren't cutting patches. The patent breech requires a .38 caliber brush for cleaning it out. I swab, brush and...

    Lyman Great Plains parts?

Earlier Great Plains rifles had 1 in 48 twist. I have owned several.

The Shooting Has Begun with the GPR

I always swab after each shot if I am shooting BP as it does leave alot of residue. If you use 2F, it leaves even more. How is your accuracy?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Went out yesterday with my Kentucky flintlock .45 and my .36 caplock squirrel rifle. I haven't shot the Kentucky for about 5 years. I didn't want to use up my BP supply so I made a SWAG and used a duplex load of 10gn of 3F and 35gn of Pyro P and it printed right in the bull at 50 yards just...

Pyrodex versesREAL Black powder short test:

You miss understand. Duplex loads in cartridges are done with smokeless powders. I don't use smokeless powder in BP firearms, nor do I use them as weapons. ;)

    Squirrel guns

The best sight pic For shooting paper, the best sight picture is to adjust your sights so, when you aim at 6 oclock, the ball ends up in the bullseye at what ever range you are shooting at. Several of my rifles are zeroed in for 50 yards and all I have to do is add more powder to get them to...

Pyrodex versesREAL Black powder short test:

You think shooting pyrodex in a flintlock makes someone arrogant and stupid? I'm afraid I don't understand you reasoning. Duplex loads in BP and Smokeless powder have been used for years. They serve a purpose for the user and has has nothing to do with their intellect or demeanor.

    Jukar 45

The Jukar bilt colonial and Philadelphia Deringer pistols had a pressed in brass sight. You can probably find something at Dixie Gun Works or Track of the Wolf to use on it.

    Information please on .44 revolver

It is a reproduction made for the original CVA (Connecticut Valley Arms) probably in the late '70's or sometime in the '80's. CVA had most of its rifles made in Spain so it may have been made there or it could have been made in Italy. Only by looking at the proof marks on the barrel and frame...

Is sizing cylindrical bullets for a Whitworth redundant?

When I owned one, dies were as scarce as hens teeth so I shot round bullets and got great accuracy. The bullets I used at the time were from a RCBS mold and weighed .405 grains as I recall.
