    Dow rod question

I have oak and hickory, I use oak and hickory. I have a oak dowel in my .32cal now, and have been using it almost daily. Weather it’s a factory hickory ram rod or a home made oak dowel, you can get bad ones. As mention earlier, pay attention to the grain. Dowel rods can and will be ok to use. I...

    Do smaller calibers foul more?

My thoughts have always been anything that I don’t have to do should be cut out and anything I don’t have to carry should be left at home. I’m gonna save this quote for my journal. Every new shooter should practice this way. Hey Bob this would make a great title for a new video...

    Swabbing a bore while hunting?

Let me start off by saying that my patch lube is lard. The barrel is lubed with lard, heck the hole gun is lubed with lard! I only shoot .32 and I use Pyrodex RS and its a PERCUSSION. I have NEVER SWABBED between shots and I shoot almost daily. Sometimes I clean daily and sometimes I don’t and...

    best ramrod

In my .32cal all I use is a good piece of hickory. No metal tips, just carve a cleaning jag on the end and call it good, just like Granny showed me! I’ve got Delron, aluminum, steel and brass and don’t care for any of them! Just my 2 cents...

    .36 or .45

You can hunt Deer AND SQUIRREL WITH THE .45 And a 50 BMG! But what’s the point.
  14. bradly_tx

    .36 or .45

No on squirrels with 45! Unless your a professional head shot(there’s a lot of em here on this forum) You hit a squirrel with a 45 and there ain’t nothin to eat, unless your not planing on eatin them in the first place. .32 or .36 for squirrels. Just my humble opinion.
