Walnut Stocked 32 Caliber Mule Ear

That’s very nice looking. The lock makes it all the more interesting. I agree with the poster above that we need more walnut stocks, too.

    Swaged Pritchett bullet sources

One bump just in case anyone knows. I’ll assume they’re as rare as they seem to be.

Lead & Sand: Remy in the Desert

It was only from about 10 or 15 yards as I recall 😛

Lead & Sand: Remy in the Desert

Nice job on that finish! I thought your gun was an original for a sec. Had to do a double take. Hard to beat an Uberti Remmy for just plain shooting fun. It never gets old!

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

What was the ball thinking? If the thought was, "Oh, no. Not again," then Douglas Adams was right about everything and we've all got bigger fish to fry.

Ok, I’ll show myself out now LOL

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Brother, I don’t have a firm grasp on *anything*, much less Relativity or my chess defense. I remember we played with the field equations in one of my classes but don’t remember more about it than that. Certainly no more depth than a ‘popular’ level. The belltower/ bicycle was about lightspeed...

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Yeah, I remember that. It was kind of a mind-numbing thought. It took me longer than it probably did most to get thru that book, which made me think I was ready for Kip Thorne. Hardy har har! Simpler for me to follow, but exact same thing and we can observe it ourselves in the wild is to replace...

Thought you were already in bed, Tanglefoot 🙃

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Perhaps the assumption is that the Earth will rotate beneath the bullet as it goes straight up and down (which wouldn’t account for the same rotation at the moment the bullet was fired)?

WANTED WANTED The Pedersoli™ Coach Gun

Second time in the past couple of weeks I’ve heard of scam activity on the forum. If something doesn’t pass the sniff test, avoid. It’s probably rotten.

    Pistol paper cartridges

Making cartridges like this can be a lot of fun or a lot of tedious work. It just depends on tho you ask. I've done it myself to scratch that hysterical I mean historical itch, and they all went bang whether I used coffee filters or cigarette papers. I did not soak or treat the paper in KNO3 or...

    Internet transactions, payment and shipping

I disagree that Covid has had no effect, but the ”quiet part” has been said out loud in the past few days. Just blurted those inside thoughts right out. When someone tells me who they are, I believe them. We can put the lion’s share of the blame for this problem right at the feet of the guy who...

    Pedersoli Queen Anne pistol

I’ve kind of been partial to these things, too. Don’t have one but if one came floating by and I had nothing better to do, you know? I can’t imagine if I had one it would get much use. Probably would have friends shoot it to get a kick out of watching them enjoy something different.

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

Summer, 2014, ESA mission planning committee: Guy 1: As you can see, we’ve calculated and accounted for the correct atmospheric and kinetic braking action to touch the Schiaparelli rover down safely on the surface, well within structural tolerances... Guy 2 :...but? Guy 3: ...but we feel like...

    August 2020 Postal Match – V Target

I think just like an in-person match, it should be one target, the first target you shoot, and that’s that. HOWEVER, I can suggest a modification for shooting distances to accommodate people who use public ranges that may not allow rifle fire at 25 yards. A percentage penalty or bonus for...

Does a RB travel with constant rotation, or accelerate?

I don’t want this physics thread get more than 10 pages long without having any equals signs in it. =
