    Stopped by a pawn shop At foley ,Alabama and talked to the guy there for a minute. I got the mountain rifle for 200 bucks. Needs a clean up But overall should make a great shooter. Will post pictures later. FBC

    Forgot to add that it is a .50 and the barrel looks browned . They also had a Hawken type rifle with no writing on it except the serial number . Asking $350 , rusty inside the barrel. FBC

    Miroku Hawken 50 value?

    My miroku Kentucky .45 was $150 about a year ago at a local auction. Nice and clean ,no rust. I have always liked the Browning ML and all Browning guns really. I think the TC hawken for $300 was a good choice too. FBC

    Fired a few at 40 grains and accuracy was not to good . 60 grains got better so I'm thinking its swelling the soft lead out to fit the barrel . I will experiment some more with the powder charge to see if I find a sweet spot . My measurements probably are not perfect . The bullets are a bit...

    Well I got the rifle cleaned up and measured the bore at 408 thousands . Since I have a 41 magnum mold I poured some soft lead bullets . 60 grains of pyrodex seems to be plenty strong enough for deer hunting.
