Hello....I purchased these this past weekend and cannot find any information on where and when they were made and the possible value..... They are in good condition and the bores look new. The rifle is missing the front sight and the pistol the rear sight. Both are .50 caliber ..... I cannot find any other marking other than what is shown in pictures. I got them for $50. I appreciate the help.

YEP, this is one to remember, and retell when somebody starts a thread, "what's the best 'deal' you ever got on guns?"

LD
Thank you....I had never owned any of these before but I knew they had to be worth the amount I paid. The one gentleman said they were worth around $400 which surprised me.

Neither gun has the barrels blued or browned. I suspect they may have both been kits built by a previous owner. Both are nice and likely worth at least $400+ for the pair unless the bores are badly rusted which they do not appear to be.

It doesn't look like a CVA Hawken. I'm pretty sure it's a CVA Mountain Rifle. And, pretty sure it's of higher value than the Hawken model.
I thought the same from pictures ive seen but I dont know a lot about them. I wonder what the value might br? They are very clean. Thank You

I will put the value this way, i would give 8 times what you spent for the pair! and still feel as if i got a bargain.
the CVA mountain rifle is the oldest repop gun i have in my collection. have had it close to 40 years. it is one of those that got sold, repurchased, gifted, returned, and this time stuck in my case as a "Most favored relic"

The CVA Mountain Rifle was my first build in 1978. Mine is older than the pictured I think. But the pic shows mark from pistol, not rifle. My serial number is quite low and marked USA. I paid $99 for the kit in '78, so figure that in to what you paid for your matched pair. Smokin' deal right there.
