    Unloaded muzzleloader at the range?

I worked as an RSO at the closest state range up till a year ago. Our procedure was to have ML shooters decap or dump the pan, not fire after a cease fire. Then the rifle goes into the rack like everyone else.

Lions mane mushroom/ chicken of the woods

I need to check the tree I found one of the orange ones on 2 years ago. Haven't been by it this fall. I haven't found any puff balls this year, my favorite. I just slice them and fry them in butter. They are easy to safely identify, too. If white inside, they are good to eat. Don't eat one...

Luckily I bought my own little piece of heaven 30 years ago so I have a place to hunt. The bad news is a lot of the surrounding land I used to have permission to hunt has...

    Re-visiting weighing RB

The difference in weight by one grain is .35%. Do you also weigh your powder charges to the same tolerance? Personally I don't weigh either of them. My shooting skill is far more of a factor. Weight differences that small are meaningless.

    My first flintlock is completed

Nicely done! Also, never point out your flaws. Most people will never notice them until you do. Those that do understand the challenges.
