I'm gonna see if Lee's improved Minnie will shoot. Fired up the pot today. Made them a scosh harder so they would tumble lube. All lubed up now.🤞

Boy now this is a new topic! 😉I'll bite. For huntin-- 50 cal gets 90grains 3f behind 420 grain conical. 60 for plinking. 54 New Englander 90-100 for hunting . Dixie 54 Hawken 90 with conical. Both 54's get 70 grains for round ball plinking. Works for me out in the wild west.😁

Here's a target I've kept from the early 90's. My 54 T/C New Englander liked round ball just fine but as the target shows it also liked the T/C 360 maxi hunter. Fifth shot at 100 yrs landed at the top of the group. First shot on cold, clean barrel is the flyer.

Gave up on shimming my Lee 533 Minnie mold after making a mess. Ordered 540 improved Minnie mold. Why fight it? Had to support uncle Larry.

Friend of mine bought an old 950 CAT loader and fought all week trying to make it run. I went out and helped him for awhile. ALMOST got it running but more importantly I just happened to have my 54 New Englander with me to test some Lee Minnies I just cast. They really smack steel with 90 grains...

Made a 10 lb mess today. Put my mold on top of a full pot of lead. I guess I bumped the handle. I walked back in the room just in time to see the last of the pot drain. Luckily it sits in an aluminum pan which I destroyed when freeing the pot base from the lead. That was my happy day!😥

I usually reload every day when hunting because I use subs. Black is more reliable for long loaded sessions.

I shoot a lot of REALs. Lee tumble lube is easy! No leading! I sometimes use a felt wad when pushing them a little faster. It's easy----- push the easy button!

We've got lots of lava rocks around here. A 54 round ball breaks them real pretty. A 425 grain conical makes lava dust! You guys are very creative. Gave me some great ideas. Can't wait till spring. I'll be out in the snow, all your fault!😁🤔

I've set up my casting room in the basement. Have an old drier fan set next to pot with hose going out window well then up and over . Worked on sealing the window and hose to do a better job of keeping winter out! Pictures coming up. I'm gonna cast this week, sunshine or blizzard. I'm ready!😁

Grafs shows no powder in stock, today anyway. Same with Powder Inc. Unless you need 1F or 4F. I suppose a guy needs to call them. Things change daily I'm thinkin.
