    What gun do you save?

I'm afraid I'd be toast---- until the fire overheated my powder cabinet, then I'd be itty bitty croutons!

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Braved cold north wind and half washed out roads ( with enough frozen lakes and snow to finish the job) and took my Grandson shooting. The wind and small hangfires messed up the group. Patent breach gettin cleaned up good next!😖 Weighed minies with 70 grains. 3f T7.

Loaded some charges for a possible outing Friday with Grandson. Floods and snow drifts permitting.

Current quality of the Italian makers

I was looking at Midway's site yesterday and the new army Remington I bought in 2017 for $329.00 is over $400.00. Mine is built well so they must be even better now! 75 bucks worth anyway.😳

Anyone here ever use a lager bore ML for small game hunting

Rabbits were thick 20 years ago. Me and my buddy went huntin wabbit and I took my New Englander 54 cal with 90gr under round ball. Who says round balls don't do much damage? Poor wabbits blew up even with head shots! Too much powder me thinks!🤔

    How old are ya?

70 going on 100. Shot my first 22 at age 5. It's the Montana way! Got into front stuffers 35 years ago and been hooked ever since!

    Triple 7

Have to agree with all the above. I've burned up many pounds of 3f T7 in my 54's. Went to musket nipples. No problems except dreaded crud ring in the powder channel. Never dry patch!!

American pioneer powder. Branded Shooters World. Doesn't like getting cold. Me either but you wouldn't know it.

I'm a slow learner but consistent!

Got 5 or 6 inches of new snow Tuesday with plenty of wind. By Wednesday afternoon I felt the need to commune with Mother Nature. I prepared some pre-loads to continue testing Lee improved .540 Minnies and 3f AP powder. It was above zero by 10:30 a.m. and I hit the road. Mother Nature can be...

    Bad CCI caps

Had some RWS 10.75 that would sometimes take two wacks to go off. Cost my buddy a nice buck. He wasn't happy!

    Proper powder loads

50 yard shots are highly unlikely around these parts. Best power level and good accuracy are a necessity. I don't feel recoil when shooting at critters!😉

    Proper powder loads

"Powder" is a very loose term. Start over gentlemen!

    Two guns well possibly three!

I only have 3 long guns and 1 revolver. Feel free to feel sorry for me.😁

    Cabin fever and bad decisions

I just couldn't take it anymore guys! The wind wasn't howling and no snow blowing so I ignored the freezing fog and loaded my 2 54's and all necessary junk in the truck. The roads were slick as snake snot and the temperature below 20. The frozen fingers and hangfires didn't help my pathetic 40...

    Llyman great plains rifle

My 54 New Englander has a flat steel but plate ,doesn't bother me at all with heavy loads. On the other hand, my 54 cal Dixie Hawken with it's curved brass butt plate leaves my shoulder purple and sore!😖
