    Sharps rifle

The bigger load I used was 80 grains... For the rest it works good (here is 13 shots at 50meters but normally I'm shooting at 100meters) - https://cdn2.imagearchive.com/muzzleloadingforum/data/attach/93/93786-les-ba10.jpg :

How many of you dry your revolver in the oven?

Absolutely, and with the microwave of he's mother. That's a fact known by some historians: Jim Beam himself told me the truth... :):)

How many of you dry your revolver in the oven?

I made this a long time ago in the oven of an old stove, but I don't do anymore: only Parker Hale's BP solvent and water. It works like Ballistol or soluble oil for the lathe...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

For me, nothing special: bullet casting, a bit more than 13 pounds (5.9 kilograms) of rounds balls in different calibers, and reading one more time a part of Paul Matthew's book about paper patching…

Removing Birchwood Casey Plum Brown barrel finish

For me too: white vinegar and a bit of steel wool 000 or 0000...

    flintlock Rifle

Can't tell how it comes, but if you try a flintlock, you wouldn't return easily near something other else... :D About the two triggers, try it with the second (stecher) engaged and after that, without stecher. That will not be exact but can give you an idea of what can do a single trigger...

    Ballistol.............

I have nothing negative to say about Ballistol, but the smell is not prima and every time I used this oil it made me cough: don't know why, smell or components, go to know what...

Y'all be ready for a whole lot of stupid questions!

Yep, somebody's reading or searching for something on the forum daily. What did you do when here you came on the first day? ;)

    LOCK QUESTION

This seems normal to me, not all tumblers stop on a flange pillar, a small drawback for some: the plate is sometimes not hard enough. But it's a very common case and, sometimes, not without interest for a small rework.....

Y'all be ready for a whole lot of stupid questions!

The 51st person says: I just have a brass cylinder with a lathe tool stroke, nothing more, and I rarely need to use my short bullet starter to tap on it... If the flint is properly mounted, it just needs to be refreshed from time to time... ;)

I bought this wild bench gun...

If you mean 700 bucks, this isn't a bad bargain, difficult to find that kind of carbine in Europa at this price... :)

Red’s Even MORE Incredible Shooting of Tradition’s Kentucky: .50 Cal of Accurate Goodness

The flint seems (I think) too low, too much in front of the vent, and in the pan, it could burn: too much hot gas. Have you tried placing it the other way around (up/down)? 50 grains is a good load for beginning with the powder charge...

I bought this wild bench gun...

Typically of Swiss, Bavarian, or German inspiration... Very nice acquisition. In what condition is the piggy bank now, round or flat? :D

    Ballistol.............

    You're right: it's just a bit "stinky"... :D :D

Mule ear and under hammer locks?

I never had the occasion for testing a mule ear-lock, but I think that the result could be compared to an under-hammer... That, the bests rifles of Tilo Dedinski all with an under-hammer system, especially for accuracy in target shooting. The rifles built by Tilo Dedinski are almost (are?) the...

What kind of stuff do you all read?

The Haitōrei, or sword ban edict, was a Japanese government edict of March 28, 1876, that prohibited the carrying of weapons in public places, except for the military and official police. Violators had their weapons confiscated at the very least and sometimes much more... As a result, the...

What kind of stuff do you all read?

To rest and as I don't live in my time anymore, I particularly like novels and historical works which take place between the battle of Sekigahara and the Meiji era. Madam does Japanese calligraphy; meanwhile, I read: I am not good with a brush and ink... :(
