Does this look right to you ?

My thought what was the point in the 1st place. If it shoots good just rat tail file or chains saw file . I would remove the front sight and belt sand the notches off. That would save filing down a new front sight. What does the rear sight look like

1095 steel. Just made them to work well with the handles. Used brass pins because I used a brass hilt. The top one came out to be a nice skinner

Large Siler Lock Jaws to Frizzen Alignment

That's what the barrel looks like when you get one. They didn't do anything

Large Siler Lock Jaws to Frizzen Alignment

It would work as long as the jaw doesn't hit the barrel. If it was mine I would try to bend into a better alignment. That one would need some TLC

That's some now isn't it. He is going to pay more for powder and caps than he paid for the rifle. Good deal

Odd results; bench vs. offhand shooting

This is what I have found for myself. It is just more comfortable to use crossed sticks than to try to use sandbags. You have more adjustment. I also have had success with a bench with a threaded for adjustment rest built in. Give different options a try until you get what works for you.

    Tip Curtis Rifles

I was hoping someone had saved a picture of that target. As a smoothbore shooter that is something to marvel

    Is FFFG the Cause

TC Hawkens were / are notorious for a ball skipping the rifling occasionally. The shallow Button cut rifling is more effective for maxi ball type ammo. The groups you are getting very good I would not worry
