    converting an unmentionable to muzzleloading

I just picked up an unmentionable (breech loading, rabbit eared) double barrel shotgun in 12 ga. The locks look like muzzleloader left & right locks and the barrels look great. Anyone done the conversion? Any tips? Thanks...

    Lets discuss small bore guns

My collection includes a .32 caliber CVA squirrel rifle and an unbranded Spanish .36 caliber, as well as .45s, .50s, and .54s. I enjoy shooting them all especially the .32 and the .36.

    Too nice to shoot.

I've never, and probably never will, own one that is too nice or too valuable to shoot, If I did I would probably sell it and buy several shooters.

How far does spent patches go ?

I usually find mine from 10 to 20 feet out, depending on which gun I'm shooting. But some disappear and I never find them.

I have a .36 full stock and a .32 half stock. Both are good shooters.

Whats your favorite muzzleloader you own?

It would be hard for me to pick an absolute favorite. I have rifles in .32, .36, .45 (several), .50 (more than one), and .54 (two at present). I have percussion and flintlocks. My revolver collection includes a .36 Navy Colt, a Navy in .44, a .44 brass framed Army Colt that I've owned since...

    Colt .36 cal

I found this today but had to walk away without it. It's nib and the seller wants $550. I'd love to have it but it's out of my budget right now.

    Average Group

I don't think there can be such a thing as an average group. Too many variables involved. I try to put all my shots in the same hole. Some days I can, some days not.

    Correct spelling for Hawk_n?

I don't believe there is an r in Hawken. That's a good thing for people in the part of the country that cannot properly say words with an r. Like "car" being pronounced "caah".

    Smithstonian visit

We will be visiting the Smithsonian next month. Who has been there, and what parts do you all recommend? I also plan to visit the museum at Ford's theatre. I especially want to see the pistol that Booth killed Lincoln with. I have one like it.

Making hammers for a percussion gun

I recently bought my first endoscope that works great with my phone camera. I have checked most of my guns (and found that a couple needed a little cleaning and oiling). The barrels for my 12 ga double looked surprisingly good though. Now I want to cut, grind, and file out a pair of hammers for...

    Tumbling your balls...

I'm wondering, if a person uses lead round balls in a tumbler to help process something, like charcoal, will it deform the balls so they won't be useable, as ammo?

    Olde thyme photos

As you can see, with a mug like mine, less photo quality is good. My sister says I was a pretty baby but soon got over it.
