SOLD Confederate Schneider and Glassick MAVI Euroarms

How does this pistol differ from any other brass framed navy copy? Or put another way, what makes it a Schneider & Glassick copy?

    Advice for N-SSA carbine

I was on my way to the recruit skirmish in Winchester, but a Semi ran me off the road (and kept going). I had to wait for the police and a wrecker so I missed it. A club about an hour away invited me out for a team practice last week.

    Advice for N-SSA carbine

Revisiting this older thread because I recently had the opportunity to shoot both original Smith and Maynard carbines. I was invited out to a practice range day with a semi local N-SSA club. Some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. One member had an original Smith and...

    Was gifted an original smoothbore

Waterfowl market hunting would be my guess. This thing certainly isn’t an upland game gun😀

    Was gifted an original smoothbore

Was able to find the maker and a little history. The markings on the rib read Hapgood - Boston. Also both lock plates are marked Hapgood. Joal Hapgood ran a gun business in Boston Mass. from 1847 to 1864.

    Was gifted an original smoothbore

The good news, it was free. The bad news, it came in parts. It came to me just as shown. I think most parts are there, minus some screws. The stock has several cracks, and one barrel has a hole drilled in it, someone probably intended to make a lamp. This thing is huge. I have not weighed it...

    Accuracy standard

Yesterday, with the help of a mentor, I shot my .58 caliber repro Colt special for the first time. No experience with bullets, loads, or the shooter. Whenever I shoot a new gun, or one I have not shot in a long time, I want to shot on paper. We started with .575 minie and 45 grains of 3f. Target...

Carrying Paper Cartridges Back in the Day?

in the civil war, the us did not issue a cap pouch for pistols. Pistol cartridges were issued in six round paper packets and each packet also contained a paper tube of six (some say seven) caps. These packets were carried in the pistol cartridge box. His issue belt also carried a carbine...

New to me Pedersoli 12 guage

Thank you for your very informative post. So if I understand correctly, if I use overpowder cards I don’t need wadding? Or does the card go over the wadding?
