G ,day from Sydney, Australia. I don't know if they still hold it but back in the 1990's I attended the 1838 Rendezvous at Riverton Wyoming.

    Availability of Percussion Caps

G'day Coinneach, I will keep you in mind and keep you updated. I mostly shoot a flintlock rifle, my wife shoots a .50 cal TC New Englander, I find it amusing that it is much easier keeping a flinter going with flints than it is to get percussion caps!

    Availability of Percussion Caps

Indy, a club member mentioned this to me on Sunday and I have looked into it and there are kits available online here, as long as you have a firearms licence it is not illegal to "manuracture"your own ammunition.

    Availability of Percussion Caps

We can buy online in the US, I just need to fill out several forms with the NSW Police to be able to import "Ämmunition or components" into the state, I am seriously considering doing this, I am the rifle captain for our muzzle loading club and I am sure that the members with cap locks would be...

    Availability of Percussion Caps

Thanks Indy, it is very strange, even though the muzzle loading fraternity is fairly small in Australia there has never been a problem getting percussion caps but then 3 years ago it started to get harder and now every gun store has them on back order. Curious as to why they are also hard to...

    Availability of Percussion Caps

How hard is it to buy Percussion caps in the US at the moment? I am from Sydney Australia and it is nigh on impossible to find any gun shop that has ANY size Percussion caps! Thankfully I always buy in bulk (cause nothing ever gets cheaper or easier to find), but many of my club members are...

G'day from another Aussie Flintlock shooter!! I have many fond memories of my trips to NZ to attend the Waiouru Mountain Man Shoot back in, used to fly out of Oz every Boxing day for a couple of years.

Spark and Flame at the Range!

Welcome to the world of Flintlocks CaptainKirk! I have been shooting flinters nigh on 40 years and even now I admit that on occasion the powder charge just seems to vanish out of the barrel, like magic! Great thing about flinters is you can always trickle in enough priming powder (I have a small...

    JP Henry Trade Rifle

A mate of mine just sent me a photo he took of me firing my JP Henry trade rifle. I have been shooting this rifle for 30 years now and the ignition is still as good as the first time I used it. It is .54cal and from memory it was a kit from a company based in Los Vegas that I saw an add for in...
