    JAX BLACK Question

Is Jax Black reusable or should one discard the portion used to soak small parts?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

There are two coats of tanic acid and two coats of iron nitrate on the stock. I went back after it this morning with the heat gun on high and a concentrated nozzle. Heated the wood until it made my finger smart in about a second and a half. No decernable color change. While the photos appear...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Well I was thinking the same thing myself after looking at it this evening. I'll try and heat it up some more tomorrow. I got the wood pretty hot to the touch, but maybe not hot enough. I was a bit timid concerned about scorching the wood.

    Truoil/Armorall - Anybody tried this

There is a huge thread about this exact subject on an unmentionable board dedicated to unmentionable rimfires. Google that stuff. I read about the process and followed the thread for awhile. When it peaked my interest. Never tried it but from what I read it works well. YMMV

    Thanks USPS

My wife sent a Xmas gift package to our daughter and son in-law. Inside this package was 1000.00 dollars worth of SOUTHWEST Airlines travel gift cards. Unfortunately she put the wrong address on the package. She realized it at 2:30 PM about 35 minutes after she left the post office. She zoomed...

    Tanic Acid Iron Nitrate Question

Seem I won't be getting my order from Chambers until after the new year. In that order is a can of their stock finish. Is there any reason why I shouldn't apply the stains and wait for the finish other than having to wait to see the stock pop when the oil is applied?

Final whisker sanded the stock on my Kibler SMR. Cleared the work bench and put down butcher paper in preparation for the tannic acid and iron nitrate staining process. I was hoping to do today, but a leaky 20 year old water heater has priority:doh:

    2 KIBLER SMR FINISHING QUESTIONS

First question: what to do with the small flat that runs down the barrel chanel; leave it flat, or taper it to the barrel? Second Question: more asking opinions here; lock plate installed finished as is or sanded, polished and finished?

Spent 2 hours yesterday sanding the Kibler SMR stock with 180g. The 220, 320 , 400g shouldn't take nearly as long as the initial 180g work.

USPS..... Here we go again 🙄

Here is an example of the USPS running efficiently. I live near Kanasa City. I placed an order from Taylor Tools in Columbia MO. The USPS thinks it is a good thing to ship my order to St.Louis back to Springfield MO then to my house. I could have walked to Columbia picked up my order and walked...
