The TC Hawken in not a friendly big bore stock design. The thin curved butt plate will not be your friend.

When shooting off a bench, you may be crowding over the top. I have found the best way to shoot guns that kick off a bench is to kneel, keeping your back straight.

Mulemauler, have you thought about opening up the lock to fit a flash cup? It would help keep the 'crud' from trying to get under the lock, and keep the flash area cleaner. Just a thought.
