    Colt 1851 Wedge Issue.

All I know is the wedge screw on a Uberti is #8-32 and the nipples are #12-28

What problem are you trying to solve with the paper?

My 50+ year old brass 1860 Colt

Nothing wrong with a Dremel and felt or cotton polishing/buffing wheels. Way easier than by hand!

New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

That's excellent condition for a Uberti box! They're so fragile I'm surprised any survive warehousing and shipping at all.

    Ruger old army loads

Using 1/8" thick felt, I too have had some make it to the target ~20 yards away

    Pietta or Uberti 1858 Remington

All I can say is my Pietta Spiller & Burr is not as nicely made as my four Uberti Colts, but it does function fine.

Why are Uberti pistol boxes so flimsy?

I just wish their dang boxes would survive shipping. A pocket Colt flops around in there because the box is way too big, but on the other hand, a 1860 with 8" barrel barely fits and tears it open. When the box tears, the plastic bag sometimes tears too, so it all ends up an oily mess.

What model is traditions wood stock

I can't tell from your photo if my gun's frizzen is smaller. Mine is recent production, stamped 2023:

What model is traditions wood stock

You could be right, but didn't the Springfield Hawkens usually have single triggers and a simpler rear sight?

What model is traditions wood stock

Traditions Frontier. The sights look different than mine, so maybe it's an older one. https://muzzle-loaders.com/collections/traditions-frontier-muzzleloader-kits/products/traditions-flintlock-frontier-rifle-kit-krc52508

JB Weld on oversized wood holes....??

With all due respect, I have to disagree there. Just a few weeks ago, I repaired a severely cracked unmentionable stock partly with JB Weld. No one will know, because on the areas that are actually visible, I used thin, clear epoxy mixed with matching wood dust. It's all in how you use it.

Competitive shooters, a moment of your time please.

You might find this video interesting. I certainly did. Also, it is possible to set up a Colt to be able to safely dry fire, where the nipples are a few thousandths short of the hammer face.

    Teflon as a patch lube?

The thing I don't like about the idea of using Teflon is now you've got micro-particles of a forever chemical going everywhere

There would be a rights issue if they used Euroarms' drawings (blueprints) without permission

    Drill Bits

I have some drill bits (and end mills) from Drill America which are good quality. The few I have bought from Shars Tool Co. have also been good. Drill Doctors work pretty good, but the guide/cam parts are made of plastic. I recently saw some reviews on this sharpener by Vevor which frankly...

    Ballistol

I have to admit, the first time I used Ballistol, I did not like the smell. From the second time onward, I liked the smell. So clearly, Ballistol has psychoactive properties and I became addicted. 😁 Question for the group: Does the aerosol version smell different than the liquid? I...

    Spiller & Burr

Question for anyone else that owns one of these: Does the T-shaped pin that retains the cylinder pin rotate super easily? I think it is supposed to have some friction, and should therefore be slightly shorter so the wave washer under the screw actually touches the frame.
