    Record cap price

Make your own powder or make your own caps or both pick your poison the writing is on the wall. Even archery stuff is OOS or BO. This was happening before Covid. I don't believe it's an accident.

Mountain Men movie Short muzzle loaders?

The shocking thing is from 25 to 65 goes 10x faster than 12 to 25. In your teens you look down the road of life and it stretches to the horizon. In your 60s it's like looking at the freighttrain of death rushing at you out of the blackness of a tunnel and you know you won't be able to get out of...

Are Swiss and Schuetzen the same powder?

Although all of the answers here about differences between powders from the same Co make sense to me just like painting your car from the same batch of paint. I have to wonder if our ancestors had to re-zero their rifles every time they went to the trading post for more powder? Surely it didn't...

    My first kit

If you'll notice the rod on the right is pinned. This is the first thing I did to the rod that came with my off the shelf lyman GPR. Mine came threaded but a hand test revealed it would pull right off. So I epoxyed and pinned it.

    Price of Percussion Caps

I wish I could find caps at all. Here in Kremlinfornia Walmart stopped handling anything firearms except cleaning supplies, holsters/cases and clay pigeons. Don't know why they carry that stuff without the applicable hardware? They even got rid of Airsoft and PaintBall. Although they still have...

    Long rifle ramrod length?

I did send it quite a bit in fact and snd sealed it good. It has a noticeable bow in it which I've read is normal for just the reason you state "for good retention" it goes in a lot easier than it comes out but still requires the butt on the ground. I'd like to be able to perform either...

    Long rifle ramrod length?

I was curious about the photos that I've seen because (I) being new to this and having recently acquired a GPR 54 flinter find it difficult to pull my snug fitting RR that's slightly shorter than the barrel and wish it was longer for a better grasp. I literally have to place the butt on the...

    Long rifle ramrod length?

Every vintage Civil War photo I've seen that rifles/muskets are in view all have the RR prominently beyond the muzzle.

    HOW RURAL IS RURAL?

I live in a tract home in Mexifornia. Nothing here but mudsharks and zombies. Local Nat'l forest burnt to a crisp and no water. A real modern "forbidden zone"🦧

Less than 100% pure lead for round balls and conicals ?

I have the same worries as you due to the fact that here in Kremlinfornia lead in any % is verboten for hunting even in your own property. AND most indoor ranges are now banning lead as well. I worry that barrels not designed to withstand the pressure of smokeless powder will not stand up to the...

Where to Get Ticking For Patches

I don't remember the water temp. I wash it inside a cloth bag as suggested to control edge unraveling. Same for the dryer. I'll wash it again and make sure its hot and soak per your suggestion thx.

Where to Get Ticking For Patches

How many times must it be washed before it's completely limp? I'm new to this. I washed my ticking once on heavy cycle and it still has some stiffness.

    No more black.

Where I live BP is a 200 mile gamble. You can call ahead to if it's on the shelf but the store won't hold it. First come first serve.

    Remember your First ML kill?

I read somewhere that; that is exactly the what the guys who compete with "race" guns do.

    I am totally…..

Unfortunately politics affects everything and always has. To deny or ignore this fact is to willfully stick your head in the sand and therefore be part of the problem. In the days of range wars there was a saying " if you straddle/ride the fence you get a sore crotch.

    PayPal users beware

I totally agree with money orders BUT!!! There are sites that will only process card orders because their system is all automated and have no live bodies to handle the physical paper. In fact most don't even have a mailing address just a website.

    PayPal users beware

Is pay pal now monitoring all social media sites and everyone on them? Who gave them access to the algorithms? And how are they going to fine anyone they have neither the the state granted authority to impose fines nor the ability to collect.
