    .45 Caliber: Deer?

I still don't know why the ball needs to go all the way through. If it goes through the hide then in to the heart or lungs it is dead. It may run a for a distance, but few deer don't run some when shot. Friend of mine shot a buck that was walking fast, then ran about100 yards ,there was no...

Fears Deadly Deer Disease Could Infect Humans

I too have heard that feeders ,baiting are a bad idea and help spread that disease. Here in Indiana starting late December through March deer heard up. I have seen heards of 12 all the way to 25+, eating and sleeping together. So why is that ok but when they gather around a baiting area that's bad?

What mistakes have you noticed in movies/tv shows that happen in the BP era like Daniel Boone, Patriot etc?

I wonder about the dark color whiskey they drank back in those days. Whiskey gets it color from time it spent in a oak barrel (Canada adds coloring) don't think back then and into the western1870s to 90s time, whiskey didn't get aged much.

    Still Hunting

Use to still hunt in big wooded state forest land ,always got lost. Take better part of the day to find my way back. For a while I believed there really were several Bigfoot in that area, because I would get back to the spot I parked my trunk and it was gone. I knew they moved it and then l had...

*UPDATE* Traditions Deerhunter - Brown residue in the barrel?

I have used Bore Butter for 25+years. After cleaning the gun I'll put BB on a cleaning patch, swabbing it several times and leave the patch on the rod in the gun. Next time I pull it out it will look like that. I just get a clean patch, swabbing a few times then reload and shoot. Have put a...

    Silly question about powder charges

I don't shoot paper targets. When I check my guns for hunting I shoot at something I think is as tough as the animal I'm hunting. Hide, plus bone, plus intestinal stuff. Used phone books ,water jugs, plywood, ect. If it goes through any of them and kept going it will kill. Shoot at a certain...

    Mink Oil

My usual shooting in real cold temperatures is for hunting so maybe 2 to 3 shots. Patches are prelube with Bore Butter kept in a bag close to my body for warmth . I know the problems of using this stuff, but it is a easy fix and has always work great for me.

Yes chipmunk store food first, then eat it later so it takes a while before it kills them. Had the same problem in my barns but they will die in time. One of my problems is that rat poison attacks rabbits, racoon , grounhogs they can eat it by the pound and come back for more
