If you are using JB Weld on a gun you are doing something wrong.

Building from a blank isn't nearly as hard as everyone seems to think it is. Suggestion would be to round off the bottom of the fore end a bit more. Looks a bit flat in the picture.

I have found that for gun building my calipers work just as good if they have the battery in or not most of the time. There is only a few times where I even care about a specific measurement. I usually use calipers more like dividers instead of actually measuring anything.

I use rifflers quite a lot. If you want to get into carving a Lindsey Airgraver is the way to go.

Depends on what you are going to use it for. Really light triggers are good for target shooting. Not so good for hunting. Gun I am building now has trigger pull about 8 pounds. Just right for that gun.

I agree. There is no question that the Kibler kits are the best product out there. But for me, the final product is not the goal. I am more interested in the experience of building than the final product.
