    Should I bed my barrel?

I really wonder how much a custom bedding helps within 130 yds... my guess is not much... are you trying to kill deer, or mice?

    Looking for Horse-Blanket Material

I see authentic ones at a few stores here; but it will cost you a bit. They are indian made, but i dont think they were from this state. I think the stores around here get them from the southwest: utah, arizona, new mexico and...I do believe...you can get on the walldrug western mall website and...

    Unreliable ignition Traditions Hawken Percussion

Lets back up. If i told you right now, to give that gun a thorough cleaning and oiling, how would you do it? I would lay cash on the table and say here lies your problem. That gun should not be having ignition problems. And that nipple wouldn't wear out in several months...or ever, unless...

    PA muzzleloader doe season

Awesome pics man! I killed a black squirrel once. Where i used to live, about 5% of the gray squirrels were black as a car tire. For some reason, that color makes them particularly tough to kill. I had to try for quite a while to get one, and I dont think it was because of their lower numbers...

    First Flintlock Squirrel

Haha. No, actually that was a particularly warm day and I had to skin them and ice them as I went. I like taking pictures of all of them hung out in a string best, but I had to get that meat taken care of. The tails kind of made an interesting picture though, I thought.

    How do you carry pistols.

Walk out the door with the colt .36 on my hip, belt hung low...my derringer, sometimes it just goes wherever i go in my back pocket or coat pocket...store, gas station, whatever... My 20 inch long single shot hunting pistol, i have yet to find a case for it, and have been considering cutting and...

    Eastern CO buck

That classic stop after they run off while they decide whether you're worth running away for the final 1200 yards.... lol. You rock man. My deer hunting is very limited because of work this year. Hoping to get out this Saturday.

Would a cal 44 remington 1858 do the job?

If you want to run into a bear this time of year, walk softly and keep your face into the wind, and spend your time in areas of beech and oak forest, while keeping your eyes out for trees with lots of broken branches from bears climbing up and down to eat the acorns that haven't fallen yet, as...

    antelope

If they're not in position for a stalk, keep driving and look for others, and make your rounds every so often and keep tabs on them. If the terrain affords it, and there is good chance of them moving into sage, or a ridgey knobby landscape with gullies, it pays to stalk to a high point, and...

    antelope

If you drive past, dont stop the truck just play it cool until you are well out of sight, park, and hike back in for a stalk. You can even circle back around for a second look to examine cover and terrain to plan a stalk, but don't slow down, and dont stop. They will run two miles if you do...

Need shooting advice, look at these patches, please.

I am no expert at reading patches, but I'll tell you, a .535 actually cuts my patch in my hawken whereas a .530 leaves a patch you could almost reuse after shooting. I see no cut marks or indentations on your patches. However, if I shoot 90 or 100 grains, my patch looks about like yours, all...

    New from Indiana

I am also a hoosier ( who now lives in SD) , and welcome! People don't realize how big traditional muzzleloading is out there, unless you're from there! For years, muzzleloaders and shotguns were the only weapons allowed for deer hunting. And all of the serious deer hunters used them for 30+...

Their skin is so thin that on the young ones you almost just have to pluck them like a bird...Definitely lean too.
