I make large striper surf fishing lures, the pin method is how I do the long center holes, so that's no problem It's correctly marking the entry exit points that worries me

Too strong a spring - how do you fix this

Ground it on the belt sander, polished the edge - 16 lbs Redid it - 10.5 lbs Do it again ? Is 10 (ish) the right number? Also, it's polished to 800 grit, is that enough ? I can take it all the way to 2000 but that seems overkill

    Started my Kibler Colonial...

I didn't read the entire thread so this may have been mentioned........ This is an old furniture repair trick that could work well here. You'll probably be sanding the stock, capture and save some sawdust, add a tiny drop of stain, let it dry, mix it into a paste using a long cure epoxy (more...

Put my order in today at Jim Chambers

My first advanced (ish) build. Getting the Mark Silver Virginia Rifle. My family came into this country in the James river area in 1743, this gun is from that area in the 1750 to 1780 era so the odds are high that one of my ancestors carried one. I think that's pretty cool. I built a CVA...

Too strong a spring - how do you fix this

I've already taken it down quite a bit, over 1/32nd of an inch, and it's still so strong it's hard to cock. Back to the sander

Too strong a spring - how do you fix this

I recently picked up an Intercontinental .36 Kentuckian Jaeger flintlock. Was a wall hanger, never shot. Have about 50 shots through it. Not a bad little gun but the mainspring is far too strong, actually hard to cock and eats flints, had to replace the first one after 30 shots. How to you go...

    Miroku Ultra-High .45 Flint - quality ?

Update: I did buy this gun, guy tossed in a lb of Goex and 20 lbs of pure lead so I couldn't say no. The thing is 1 1/2" accurate at 75 yards off a rest with the first load I tried, great spark, fast ignition, looks like I got lucky with the lock - but a very meh at best trigger. Overall I'm...
