Where can you find brass slotted flathead woodscrews ?

Because they certainly don't seem to exist anywhere around me ! Doing a complete overhaul of a Kentucky Long I picked up from BigSkyRambler. (Great guy to do business with!) Buried under decades of buildup is some beautiful wood but with some very shallow and discolored brass inlays. They were...

Lockable Case for a long rifle ??

After you have just in the past few days, purchased a pricey unmentionable for trap shooting, then a pricey case for it, then another BP gun, which needs another pricey case, the whole wife thing starts getting a bit precarious. At this moment a $20 case is an expensive case.

Lockable Case for a long rifle ??

Just getting (building) my first long rifle, 42" barrel, realized I don't own a case long enough to fit it. Here in the Peoples Socialist Republic of New Jersey we must have all guns locked up - at all times even in the house, not just in the truck while being transported to the range. I'm good...

What gun most commonly would have been used in Va around 1740 +/-

My distant grandfather, Lawrence Kelly, landed in the "New River" area (we think that refers to the James river) in 1740. I'd like to build a gun that would be at least mostly similar to what he would have carried. Looking around I've seen every caliber mentioned from .32 to .58, various...
