    Hunter Orange period clothing

Reminds me of when I took my son for his first deer hunt as a teenager. He came out ready to go and I looked at his jacket. Uhm son, you might want to pick a different one. He was wearing a light brown suede jacket with a wide white fluffy collar. You look like a deer butt son.

    Kibler price increase

Saw a note on thier FB page that they are going to have to increase prices by about 5% due to the high cost of everything. Still a great deal. Increase to start April 1st.

    Remove difficult pitting suggestions

If the metal is pitted, the only way to remove the pits would be to remove metal. Could use a scotch brite pad and a bit of elbow grease to clean the pits, but they would still remain. Not the end of the world though. Just wasn't cared for proper.

    Loading revolvers question.

I think everyone loads these pistols the way they were shown when they first started. Many different methods, and none of them are wrong. Loading method I use for my 1858 is to load powder, firm fiber or cardboard wad, dab of my shooting grease, and then the ball.

I'm Not Usually This Lucky, Just Have to ask

I have a couple pounds each left of Old Eynsfod. 2f and 3f. It is great powder. Worked the best for me in all my powder guns. I visit a friend in Missouri that lives a half hour from Grafs. Need another visit to him and try and stock up. With GOEX shut down though. :(

    Renegade re finishing

No worries. Picked this up 2nd hand almost 20 years ago. Walked into local gun/pawn shop looking for a black powder rifle, and this was the only one he had that wasn't a plastic stocked inline. Utlitarian tool to me is all it is. Has put much meat into my freezer. If I remember right, I...

    Renegade re finishing

Increasing length of pull. bit more work to do to fit this piece of oak on the end to increase LOP. being 6’4” with long arms I have always found the renegade to short. between the pad and the 1” oak it should be better.

    Renegade re finishing

It's actually quartz. Built our home about 6 years ago and the wife wanted granite. I convinced her of the benefits of using quartz instead. Plethora of different color options to choose from since it is a man made mixture of ingredients. And never needs to be sealed.

    Renegade re finishing

The sharp edges around the lock, and other areas, always bothered me. Trying to smooth them about a bit.

    Renegade re finishing

Few hours of aggressive sanding and the thick factory varnish and stain is gone. Few more hours of lighter grit sanding, replace iron hardware with brass and a finish to go. Found a nice milk chocolate colored walnut underneath.
