I don't think I'd hunt big game with it, I question how ethical it is. With shot, and reasonable ranges not exceeding 25 yards I would trust it for small game, given the good patterns I've seen consistently.

The barrel is listed as 16 inches long, it is funneled. I believe the barrel itself may be 14 inches, with the funnel adding the last two.

Just a beginner here but Traditions has their kits about 75-100 dollars less than finished products. This being a beautiful piece of craftsmanship I wouldn't fault you adding 250-300 dollars to the price you payed for the kit.
